Pretty much as the title says. I just had to come on here to post in regards to this. I've noticed that the scaling in CPU skills is a bit off... mainly the Handheld Weapon Upgrades ( i think that's the one ) skill, and Core Dropsuit Upgrades.
What do i mean by this? Well, as most of you may know, if you've been playing long enough to pay attention; there seems to be a bias mainly shifted towards PG usage reduction, and INCREASE far more than CPU affecting skills... I really think that the aforementioned skills be buffed to a higher percentage increase, or... that there actually be a CPU component to the fitting optimization skills. There's a suggestion.
The optimization fitting skills are great, but we've only got about two or so skills that affect CPU. And it seems as if you're getting some SOLID gains (which you are) to Powergrid output. And they're DEFINITELY noticeable and enough to say "yeah.. i notice a difference". But CPU seems to be a bit left out...
As an EVE player, i'm used to the whole PG/CPU side of fitting, and it's pretty obvious that it's a matter of balaning things out; a matter of giving up something to achieve something. Certain fits for certain tasks... you get the idea.
But i can honestly say... the CPU scaling increments are just off. Not TERRIBLY... but just enough to really see that it hinders fits that really shouldn't otherwise be bottlenecked through lack of CPU output.
I totally wouldn't mind training an additional Fitting optimization skill for CPU... or an Advanced Handheld Weapon Upgrades skill which decreases CPU usage? Thinking about those Fitting Optimization skills now; i'm kind of wondering why it didn't have a CPU component to it, instead of just an exclusive PG reduction. As i've said before.... it seems biased when you look at it in unison. All of the fitting skills; AKA skills which affect CPU/PG.
It made a hell of a lot of sense in EVE with Weapon Upgrades and Advanced Weapon Upgrades. But... i can't say the same for Dust. There seems to be a bit of a CPU dilemma. The solutions i've mentioned should be able to do the trick.

I'm not exactly sure if you know this, but if you skill Light Weapons to Level 5 you can reduce Light Weapon CPU Usage by 15% for example. Same goes for Grenades. Would have to look up the other stuff.
Oh, yeah... oh, my, i trained that a LOOOOONG time ago to Level 5. And despite that one skill, there's just another, if i'm not mistaken, that reduces CPU usage. And that's strictly for Weapon Upgrades.
Yeah, it's still definitely more biased towards lowering PG than CPU. The fitting skills as a whole.
Still not enough love for CPU.
Another 5% increment skill for CPU oughta do the trick.
PG is plentiful, but it completely offsets CPU. There just isn't an equilibrium between the two because of a lack of scaling.
Yeah, i've already gotten all CPU-related (all TWO ) skills to Level 5, maxed.
But in comparison to the PG-enhancing and usage lowering skills... it's nothing. |

Yeah, and they're specific to certain certain modules. Not all across the board, affecting Dropsuit CPU usage. |

@DISGRUNTLEDev
It's really not that hard to understand. There's a bias towards CPU. There aren't enough scalers to increase base CPU as Irian Locust mentioned.
Even now, as a matter of fact, after playing, i've noticed that there's also a CPU USAGE bias, as well. Now, with that being said, i don't think they should touch the PG AT ALL. It'll only create another problem.
They could simply offset some CPU usage for more PG usage on some items. Because i have NO CPU with all skills to 5. But i've got a solid amount of PG left...
It's pretty easy to see. Especially when fitting Scouts. Or anything else, to be honest... There's simply too much CPU usage, and NOT ENOUGH PG usage.
@Irian Locust
Well, pretty much what i said above. Although i can't agree with you on the skill scaling for CPU. No way... i really think we're missing an Advanced Weapon Upgrades skill of sorts to decrease CPU usage of weapons... Or go back and modify the Core Dropsuit Upgrades skill to scale by 5%... Although it'll apply to PG, which honestly, is plentiful.
Or, as i've said decrease the CPU usage across the board, and put in a couple PG units for modules. Everything, whether it's a shield recharger, weapon, weapon upgrade, or Cardiac Regulator. Just uses too much CPU in contrast to PG. There should be somewhat of an equilibrium. A substantial offset of CPU usage with a slight increase in PG oughta do it.
@Jade Hasegawa
More like 5% for CPU, and... basically nothing for PG. I also run into fitting issues that are just ridiculous. Without even using the infantry slot at all, i still run into CPU issues. And as i've said, CPU skills are maxed. |

Really? No one else adding to the thread?
This CPU issue really needs CCP's attention. |
