Lol. Your corp mates MUST be fairly new to the game, I guess. To answer your question.....no....
...you DON'T actually run faster without a weapon in hand.
Smh. |

Lol....it's the animation that makes it LOOK like you are running faster, but in reality, you are not.
Smh again. |

Smh again. ok ill race u to an objective its not much but enough to get a few extra feet
Lol....you'd beat me with my slow Amarrian armor plate stacked dropsuit anyway.
Your hands move rapidly, thereby giving the "impression" that you are moving faster.
But, trust me....it's all in your head, bro.
Trust. |

Not the question OP was asking, yet you continue giving him misinformation.
So which is it? Run faster with a sidearm or slow stamina depletion with a sidearm?
Because neither is true. As stated above, the only things that make you sprint faster are Kinetic catalyzers or sprint speed passive bonuses.
Quit giving OP false info. |

Seems there is alot of things you don't know, this being one of them. That has never been the case and I have been playing Dust for a looooong time now.
I'm telling you, it's all in your head. Your suit will still have the same sprint speed and your stamina will deplete as it normal does, whether you're carrying your AR, sidearm, nova knives or your library card.
You don't run any faster than normal. |

Now you're starting to get incoherent. Btw, getting to point in dom faster than other people is not evidence that you're running faster than usual. Seriously, are you this thick?
Now THIS guy speaketh the truth! |

We are not, but OP is asking a question that you aren't even sure you have an answer for. Answer me this:
As detailed as they make dropsuit specs/weapon specs, don't you think they would have added something like that, since it would greatly benefit scouts the most?
If I am in a firefight and I need to retreat, do you think I, you or ANYONE says to themselves "Hell, I'm getting chased. I better pull out my nova knives so I can make a quicker getaway"?
I can almost bet you don't pull out your sidearm every time you need to retreat. If what you say is true, EVERYBODY would be doing it.
You don't like hearing that you may be wrong, but in this case, you are.
Not trying to be mean, but like I said, you are giving false information, bro. |

As stated earlier, the only way is to test the exact same suit with the exact same loadout on the exact same map at the exact same starting/stopping point with you controlling the stopwatch. You won't get the same exact time everytime and may have SLIGHT differences, but ONLY differences of 10-15+ seconds should count. If the difference is THAT substantial, then you may have a case. |
