The SMG is basically a compact version of your HMG...so that's what I run. |

I'm a dedicated heavy. I personally like the SMG. Usually you are facing multiple opponents as a Heavy, so you want to be able to spit out as many bullets as you can, as fast as you can. |

I had this exact problem a couple of days ago, I used to use Milita scrambler pistol but since 1.4 I think the SMG is the way forward. Doesn't take much SP to get a basic one and the zoom comes in handy, recoil is surprisingly low.

smg, you will use your sidearm in the heat of the battle and having to adjust to a different style of shooting in those frantic situations is not advised. |

SMG all the way. M209 Assault = Six Kin proto DPS for 7k isk and easier fitting.
Flux + Flaylock is an interesting combo since you essentially have two complementary kinds of grenades, but I feel like the SMG is the best weapon to switch to when the fighting is heated and you've exhausted your HMG clip. It's a really good partner to the Forge Gun, too. |

SMG for sure...if youre in a situation that calls for your sidearm , chances are youre about to get stomped in the face , so you want the SMG's rapid stopping power at hand |

Honestly, the crowd keeps saying it. the HMG isn't even worth it anymore.
The SMG provides all your CQC needs, without taking away a primary weapon to use for whatever situation you feel like participating in.
I only play my Heavy now to Forge Gun vehicles in skirmish. Thats its only use.
Even the ******* saying put on a Duvolle and continue to Heavy suit....no. sorry, but no...the slow ass **** from a heavy ARing, STILL gets dominated by ANY cal logi thats duel tanking.
The only viable suits atm that dominate are Logi's. Amazing,t hat even after a nerf...they are still viable towards winning in almost all situations.
Heavy and scouts are just plain outclassed now. |

You'll want the SMG, because of its finishing power at some sort of range.
Besides, the SMG really is the most versatile and effective secondary in the game |
