Banning Hammer Tal-Romon Legion Amarr Empire 1370	Posted - 2013.09.11 19:43:00 - [1] - Quote This ^ is the day this year when Dust 514 had the highest player count (6533) From 2013-05-17 to 2013-06-08 Dust 514 had a steady play base of 5000 players. From 2013-06-09 until now, the player base having progressively dropping to the current average of 3500 players. Also the 6533 player count is bellow the average of the early month of Chromosome. and almost all the way throughout.( 8000 ) What have change ? Why is this happening CCP ? what we had in Chromosome that Uprising is missing ? What happen from 05-17 to 06-08 ? and what happen after that ? Do CCP have anyone that analyze things like this ? Also the features that made this game "appealing" isn't in the game i.e. PvE, a lot more EvE connection and variety of maps plus MCC command or something.

What's the result? Players joining the game for the first time trying out the 4 different starter fits (no variety) and saying that this game is too confusing, too hard, and pay2win. Oh, and they still didn't have a decent tutorial, still had horrible shield/armor balance, vehicles were still horrible, and the game had maybe 10% of everything that was featured in the trailers. Not only that, but reviewers were basically reviewing an unbalanced, unfinished, broken game.

Don't forget that Chromosome had a very steady player-base of 8000 people in "PEAK" time, all the way through. That link is not showing the stats from Early this year... but we know CCP, you can't hide the facts.

The various Uprising patch releases (1.1, 1.2..... 1.4) will at best buck the longer term downward trend between major content releases. I think the PCU numbers were being supported somewhat by expectations that things would be "much better" in 1.4. The fall in PCU after that was probably because it wasn't as much of an improvement as hoped. This is similar to the stock market, when good news is expected so the market prices it in, then the good news arrives but isn't quite as good as expected, so the share price actually falls after the good news. If the winter expansion has new content (I'm hoping for PvE) then expect to see the pattern repeat itself again.

My guess is they are holding this marketing budget in reserve for when their contract with Sony lets them launch on other platforms (including PS4) which I presume will be May 2014.

The AR in that preview looks like crap compared to the current one. The only good this is the visual effect with the hud; blood splatter and visor shaking. Everything else looks bleh to me. They were never going to be able ship something like that on the PS3, on the PS4 maybe.

My guess, they want to fix some of the core stuff, add in a better new player experience. Then they will have a re-release party. As long as they have enough people spending cash to keep them afloat untill then. Getting those review sites to re-review the game will be tricky. I would only start getting worried when devolpment slows down. At the moment I only see it picking up.

That did something to Uprising specifically, but the real problems started in Chromosome, and that Stats are "conveniently" missing from that link. My guess is; it's around the time when the Pubstomping started with Prototype equipment.
