You missed the other half of the question Iron? What about prefabs and kitcar items do you think they will be allowed? |

If/when they should you would get 3m each. The point is that when they say you are getting a rare object you are getting a rare object. Someone may buy every one they can just to raise the price. So what, it is fun.
We have a way to transfer money next we need player trading. After that we need contracts and then the market. The next step is the bridging the gap to EVE and ISK transfer between them. EVE has the blueprints and will start production. The NPC market will stop making goods slowly and EVE side will ramp up accordingly. That is the process I would use. |

Indeed, I w I uld love for the NPC maarket to be taken down, also while you should be able to buy from a neocom, Id like to have c a grand b azzare like area filled with holo stalls, proximity chat and the like, make it feel like there is universe besides the battlefield!! |

The problem is ... you can't have DUST reliant on Eve to manufacture it's items ... this would just cause isk flow from DUST to Eve ... the wrong way round from the original plan for DUST to be the isk sink. I don't know, maybe the plans changed.
But this is why I say we need some kind of industry/manufacture DUST side cos being reliant on Eve to provide for DUST isn't going to work out too well ... trust me |

Industry will be directly involved in the Dust economy once everything is sorted out. Balancing it will take time because it is VERY IMPORTANT to do so. It's important to balance out the economy first in Dust because Dust's economy will soon merge directly with the Eve Online economy.
If anything I predict the following would happen once the economy is up and running.
Imagine a future in which Dust players fight for control of planetary resources that are NOT clones like you see now. Maybe the clones will still be an important commodity, but not as much as the other commodities... minerals. Then imagine a Dust corp controlling multiple planets that pump out key minerals needed for production. The Dust corp in the meantime manages to negotiate a good deal with an Eve corp that has already established a very solid and lucrative production line. Dust corp acquires the minerals and sells them for cheap to the Eve corp and then the Eve corp uses those minerals produce infantry gear needed for further planetary domination and then sells them directly to the Dust corp.
But then let's assume that the Dust corp and the Eve corp cut their ties and decide to go their separate ways. The Dust corp could just put the minerals up in the open market for other Eve corps or individual players to buy while the other Eve corps simply do the same thing with their infantry gear for Dust corps or individual players to buy.
I makes sense this way because Eve Online has had a 10-year head start in regards to their economy and industry and there are countless corps and alliances out there that have established solid production chains that can help a well-managed corp pump out large volumes of an item and sell it at wholesale levels. |

#1Posted: 2013.09.10 05:58 | Report | Edited by: CCP Frame In the period of September 12th - 17th, we will have the following items available for purchase:
GÇó Federal Defense Union Scout G-I Pack [New]: 4000 AUR
So as you can see the FDU scout suits we got from the caldari prime event will no longer be as rare. What next will the Caldari suit from that event also become an AUR item, how about the Blackeagle suit?
Does anyone else find it really annoying that you complete an event for a "rare" item and a few months down the line it is now an AUR item. The only plus side to this is the FDU is quite a crap suit so I cant imagine to many will buy them the blackeagle however is great so if that became an AUR item its value would drop dramatically. Please CCP I am all for adding cosmetic items into the game but selling ones that are meant to be rewards just makes you seem lazy.
This happens in other F2P games, and is always followed by a community uproar. Personally, I agree with you. Rare event rewards need to remain as such. If people want them, buy them from the people who earned them. |

There's no reason we can't have the secondary market open ... not connected to Eve for a long time yet ... but open for us to buy and sell our salvage stuff and carefully balance salvage rates to maintain the economy within DUST.
Then you can start to consider how it will merge with Eve market and how manufacture will need to be implemented etc. knowing how the market has balanced out over time.
We all have plenty of unwanted salvage now so we could populate the market with sell orders ... problem is I'm not sure ALL items are seeded in the loot table, or that salvage is sufficient to maintain supply to meet demand, or that the community we have is intelligent enough not to completely screw it all up either intentionally or by incompetence seeing as the market spectrum is so small when compared to that in Eve (ie. we don't have many different things to sell and living with 5% of them screwed up at any one time while a minor hindrance in Eve could be game breaking to DUST) |

If supply was meeting the demand then it wouldn't rare. It will work itself out as less and less salvage items hit the market the price will rise until a price is set. Let the market work. People are stupid and will screw it up but the market will end up fixing itself. Salvage rates will have to be tweaked but it will find a nice ebb and flow. Don't bee to scared, the good Doctor will be pulling strings and making us dance. Free markets are fun. |

If anything, it boosted the economy. In fact, it boosted CCP's bottom line as well. Both players and CCP benefited from it. |

Exactly..... not to mention that players who play the game enough simply wont be forced to buy things to stay competitive. Need that monthy booster? save up 20 million or whatever the rate would be when the market is added and go ahead and buy either the booster directly, or the appropriate amount of AUR off somebody. simple as that! |
