At this point, I am not sure. Skirmish 1.0 did have a cool multi-stage design while also having small and large turret installations (that I think were way better designed then). The additional content and dropsuits throughout the past builds have been pretty good and has added some flavor to the game (although Caldari dropsuit seems to still be preferred). All I do know for sure is my favorite build is not 1.4. Sure, there had been some fixes but really no new additions that DUST needs. Plus, where's the old fashioned style corp battles that every corp can use for training or special events? After all, it's not like PC (at least how it is now) is going to keep this game going. |

Great to know Dust doesn't need any more maps/sockets. You hear that, devs? You can stop making more of those.

Skirm 1.0 Build (Damn shame we could only play it on weekends)
Or
Chromosone, tanks were balanced, Scouts were good, and my sweet Sagaris.
Rest in piece my brave white steed!

Chromosome was fun, but I was more successful in 1.3 |

Skirmish 1.0. I loved doing backflips in my missile Sagaris, or having the RDV pilot go back and pick up enough tanks for the rest of the team. |

We got 3 whole new maps while the new sockets have been simply added to the old maps. I'm not meaning to discount the work done from CCP as the new sockets are definitely higher quality than the old but other than sockets, not much have been done with map design as the new maps are merely reiterations of the past ones. We still primarily see desert with no plant life (beyond some grass and floating shrubs) or liquid of any kind (beyond acid within certain sockets). Plus, I find it somewhat counterproductive to orbital support that most objectives are now within thick single level buildings or underground rather than being on rooftops or within the middle of open, multi-staged structures. |

I know what "no new additions" means. Had you written "only few additions" it would be correct but what you wrote can only mean that Dust didn't need new maps. |

If 1.4 had skirmish 1.0 then I'd say 100% this build. but still this build gets 87% of my favor. |

I've only played 4 or 5 matches of 1.4 and it's already my favorite build by far (started May '12, whatever build that was)
New maps are boss, matchmaking is insanely quick now, aiming is smoother (maybe aim assist needs some adjustments, maybe not), less buggy all around. |

I've only run into him trying to open faction warfare, and a couple times the day of the build launch. They've fixed it up pretty nice for me so far, but I haven't played much this week so I could very well be missing it.
I still remember not being able to play anything but Ambush back when like....20 people played Ambush because Skirmish 1.0 caused a full system freeze for me every single game without fail. |

If you're saying 1.4 is "way less buggy" than the Skirmish 1.0 build, then I would have to agree. I still remember the piles of vehicles that would result by calling in a single vehicle back then. |

Chromosome was much better than Uprising for balance. Heavies, tanks, scouts, the rendering distance-all imbalanced now where perfect back then. Lasers were not really OP, just the Viziam. We didn't even need aim assist and we could track targets very well. Manus Peak actually had a peak and it was my favorite map by far. Now it has since been neutered and the rendering distance makes it hell to rail gun or snipe on. Additionally the redzones have been trimmed and the Malik's extremely unbalanced.
I wasn't around for skirmish 1.0, but from what I heard it was awesome. |
