haha that's just it, man. I don't. Most of what I run is still just at standard level. Restocking is a b***h.
In the past week I've only earned about 3 mil after restocking. and after a little less than a month and a half i've only earned about 34 mil
I honestly don't get how some people can run Proto everything every game, all game.
We all get paid the same right? Then how do some afford to do what others can't?
I have friends that have been playing since closed beta and can still barely afford to run proto when needed (PC matches) While there are a select few who can and will run proto literally every game all game no matter what their k/d is. Even in public matches.
Is there some secret to earning insane amounts of ISK? |

You're funny.. really funny.
My K/D is decent, as is supposed to be with a logi. I go positive or break even in most games.
Those unfortunate games where i just happen to get protostomped i still do decent most of the time. Last proto stomp i had (last night) i still went 14/13
My average k/d is more like 11/2 or 8/4. Somewhere along those lines.
That's been since I joined Molon Labe though. I'm still trying to make up from my k/d from when i was in D-Uni... I've gotten alot better since, but my ISK gain has still just at the very bare minimum improved. |

I like playing logi - so i play logi If there were a militia logi i would definitly try it if it were cheaper.
And no - Not begging for a hand out.

Its the deaths thats the important bit... thats what pulls you into the negative. Its what you have to work on. Your kills/assists/revives mean nothing if you die 3 or 4 times in adv/proto fit suits.
Im not good enough to play leap frog and matrix style dodge up close and i know it... but im not stupid either, if i see the hoard coming towards me i pull back, i dont go rambo. Exactly true. Breaking even and having a good K/D means nothing to ISK gain. 3 or 4 deaths while running a Duvolle in a match and you already lost money, most of the time anyways. Not to mention if you're playing as a logi. Not only are you losing your weapon, suit and mods but you're also losing equipment. Once you get up to the advanced level on everything on your suit it can be pretty expensive. Especially if you throw a few prototype items on it. Be careful of whats fitted on your suit. If its something you don't use often, or don't use on a specific game mode, simply create a new fit without the specific item on it.
I play as a logi, while in ambush matches I play using a suit that doesn't have full equipment on it, or at least not expensive equipment. Try messing around with cheaper fits and your ISK gain per match should go up. Like ChromeBreaker said, its the deaths that matter, not your overall K/D. |

I know and do all of these things. I didn't get better by doing the same old thing.
But what exactly determines the endgame payout though? I've heard several versions and variations, even the one you mentioned - amount of deaths.
But I've never found one to be more consistant than the other, the payouts still seem random to me. Even after testing all the variations of each outcome. One doesn't outweigh the other. The more I try to mix it up, the more random it becomes. Destroying this, hacking that, killing him before he kills me.
The payout is still the same, And I've seen others do way worse than me in every aspect and get paid alot more.
IMHO - CCP needs to fix the economic mechanics of Dust. It just seems broken and random to me right now. And Thoroughly explain how the payouts work. |

Don't listen to all these guys, OP. They all had their assets liquidated come Uprising, and we're swimming in the dough. The only way to pull out of your situation is to scam ruthlessly, betray your corporations, play the meta game, make witty forum threads that make people donate to you, OR play the good guy and splash out, buy a recording device and make some DUST videos which is a surefire way to get viewers to donate ISK to you in goodwill.
I have a tanker alt. which has around 1 mill in his wallet at any one time. I play with the starter fits, and when I get enough for a tank I get it and have some fun. Then it blows up and I'm back to farming. Never ending cycle, to be honest. Best bet is to play until your corporation trusts you enough to throw you into PC. Win a few of those matches and you'll see the ISK rolling in. Not to mention if you got a good corp who pays you simply for participation. |

thats the problem with pubs and ISK payouts. it creates terrible game-play. People (not saying you) panic drop to militia/ bpos get hit even more and its a downwards spiral that impacts any sense of maximising the RPG elements for most people in the game |

Its based on a few factors. Mainly the War points you get (logi kills nothing gets payed the most), and What you kill (eg. you'll get more for killing a pimped out proto suit than a free milita fit).
Sure there are more too.

Ok.. Alot of good ideas but none of them touch what I'm trying to get at.
I'm not losing ISK. it's the very low gain.
Let me try to explain an example of what I'm trying to get at by saying the payout is too jumpy and random.
If I go say.. 11/2 in a game and earn 1800 WP. Most of the time with that average I only get paid 180,000 to 200,000 ISK
But someone can do way worse than me, something like 5/8 with only 550 WP and get paid 230,000 to 260,000 ISK
How does that happen... at all, to be on average/fair/blah blah blah --- It's just too damn random. And doesn't make sense to me. |

Keep an eye on an enemy squads WP count, if it's high enough for an orbital then space yourself from allies a little and plan an escape route just in case.
Don't stand in the middle of the road shooting an enemy tank expecting to make a difference, that tank will likely be more than happy to return the favor with its turret.

NOOOOO! You are one of those!?! You could use free fits against them, or you could just choose to engage VERY carefully. Scanners are more important than ever so that you don't get trounced by a full squad 6 v 1 unawares. |

If your objective is profit and you aren't in a battle where your corp has any long-term investment in the result, making sure you earn money is more important than making sure you get the win. If you have a long-term goal that the battle in question can help with, then things change - but even then, your long-term goal will probably involve a way to make more ISK than you would by putting profit ahead of the victory, meaning that even when you lost ISK short-term, you're doing it to ensure a profit.

I have more ISK than I know what do with.
I think its terrible mechanics to say its more important to earn money than win in a pub match where there is nothing on the line.
Basically, lets play a game where AFK or run away the enemy is encouraged
thats why PVE should never be implemented. People wont play the FPS part. They will 'mine'.

From all the testing that we as a corp have conducted payouts get paid out based on WP.
Eg With first place getting 350k 2nd would be around 330k 3rd about 315k and slowly dwindle down
It looks like the total payout is a set figure + a % of total isk destroyed as a team. The other week I went 35 & 2 running std fits got 5002 WP & 1.5m isk payout (We destroyed a hell of a lot of tanks) and the whole team practically got about 1m isk each
Advice from me is run std fits around 30k even if you die 5 times you should still break even.

^That^
Right there, everything you said. That's what I'm poking at.
Why does one corp seemingly get that kind of advantage over another? Why do some corps get better payouts, even in pub matches?
The fact is, everything in Dust revolves around money (ISK), So, why do some corps make more than others? Is it the amount of members, the amount of PC matches they play, their combined total K/d, WP, W/L ratio?
Do the amount of held Districts come into factor?
But I'm not exactly curious about the Corp economy, I'm more confused about the singularity economy. How does one person make more per game than the other, when one does better than the other? |

Having to run cheap fits isn't exactly a great selling point. Look come play this game with all this cool gear... that you'll never get to use. That'll retain new players. What happens when higher level vehicles get introduced? People can't profit in standard tanks you think anyone would be able to afford to lose a proto tank? The only people swimming in isk are those who spent the last three months AFKing because they are so cool.

People can't profit in standard tanks you think anyone would be able to afford to lose a proto tank? The only people swimming in isk are those who spent the last three months AFKing because they are so cool.
Lol use what you want.
Do you really think Dust ISK competes with EVE isk?
We are disposable heroes.
Wait until the real value shows up in the real EVE DUST integration.
With the wealth disparity, ISK will be the last thing we need to worry about. Spend it. You could get charity from a random pilot and help them out somehow. They could reward you greater than every ISK you and your best friend have ever seen and it would be chump change to them.
Hell give me some. I just bought 255 proto assault suits that I am saving to roll with whatever corp I decide to play with.

You're funny.. really funny. My K/D is decent, as is supposed to be with a logi. I go positive or break even in most games. Those unfortunate games where i just happen to get protostomped i still do decent most of the time. Last proto stomp i had (last night) i still went 14/13 My average k/d is more like 11/2 or 8/4. Somewhere along those lines. That's been since I joined Molon Labe though. I'm still trying to make up from my k/d from when i was in D-Uni... I've gotten alot better since, but my ISK gain has still just at the very bare minimum improved. What exactly do you need ISK ... for? If you're honestly running <20k ISK suits and die 5x a match, then you'll still be profitable every. single. match. and that is sustainable forever. Oh I am EVE rich that's not the point. The improved hit detection upped the death rate of every suit to the point you might as well just run cheap fits cus your gonna die anyway. That takes away what little endgame most players have. Anybody who did get the assets liquidated into isk at the respec or didn't AFK for months struggles with ISK, my tank alt never breaks 3 million and that's with relatively few losses. |

Mazda, That's what I'm confused about.
If what you say is true, and WP's do determine the outcome of the payout, Then how does someone who earned 550 WP get paid more than someone who earned 1800 WP?
It just makes no sense... |
