The AR weapon needs some changes. I would like players to share any ideas! Lets promote ideas not down them please.
My IDEA! - Assault Rifles should only have 2 types, breech and Normal. All AR's should have the ability to be auto or burst and the ability to add and remove a scope IN BATTLE. Similar to the scrambler charging or the laser rocking shields (laser could have a cooler ability in battle but that's another thread).
Note* the 1.5 AR is being nerfed. Range is being limited to make other weapons (scrambler and laser more effective) If you are unaware of this, please do not ask here and read other threads about the 1.5 changes to AR.

I don't think that this is a good idea, as it would require a complete reworking of the entire fitting process. In addition, the Breach would be redundant, as an 'attachment' would allow breach like firing. If this was applied, it would also need to be applied across all types of weapons, requiring months of reworking and drastically altering Dust.
However, the idea has merit; if CCP had chose to go with a modular approach to weapon variants originally, it would more than likely have been feasible. |

The Plasma Rifle would be useless with anything higher than a 2x scope, and taking off anything lower than 2x would be pointless, so your idea makes no sense. Also, using burst fire in CQ is pointless, so that makes no sense either. Honestly, buff the breach's damage and ROF to make it not completely useless, and lower the range on the basic Plasma RIfle, and then get rid of the Tact. Rifle, and the Burst Plasma RIfle. |

We need the combat and rail rifles released and the AR to be rebalanced to have its own strengths and weaknesses compared to the other two. Standard plasma rifle should be the best full auto but the breach, tactical, and burst need to be inferior to the rail, scrambler. Kick and dispersion need to be looked at if we're keeping the current strafe speed, hit box size, and aim assist strength. Removal of the sharpshooter skill comes to mind. |

Tech 3 weapons will allow this but they need to iron out the kinks first, were nearly their though the core mechanics are close to optimal!! |

Do not agree with your idea, the AR needs to have the 4 variants and not be able to switch on the fly between them, that would be too much.
The way I'd like the see the AR change is to become more like the blaster rifle it's supposed to be. Make it like a mini blaster turret. Short range, no clip, over heat (but with no feedback damage). |

Every race is going to get all 4 variants Breach, Burst, Tac and Normal but are going to have one variant that is they are better at than the others. |

Ya, it disgusts me that they are so beta still but they still will not allow players to have sp resets when they do major changes.
Anyway - Nerfs might not matte the game will be not even worth it when PS4 comes out and the other free F2P that are FINISHED PRODUCTS, come and remove all the Dust players lol |

Still - I think you make Scramblers and Laser rifles like before. But to fix the issue we had before (longer range battle became impossible to close the distance) Allowing AR player the ability to add and remove a scope would at least let them engage in combat and would not make for gimp situation we had before. Like I said the Scrambler can charge fire and the laser can smash shields so this is just the same as Scrambler charge effect.
All weapons should have a secondary ability if we can modify them.

Thank you, Please share some cool ideas!!!! Seriously? Every weapon has burst, assault, tactical and normal. There are some limitations but CCP (both locals) love having variations on weapon types. While I understand your position I disagree with it and suspect it has zero chance as weapon variants are important in New Eden.
Adding or removing a scope in battle is also unlikely. That would need massive support in the game and UI code. Not to mention the animation, changing the stats on the fly and would make the AR much like it is in Crysis 3. That would be an improvement granted but the software development and the art assets required to support it would be months (seriously several) of effort. Please realize that this alone makes it a bad idea. And it violates the entire method of choosing a weapon type for a particular play style or encounter. Being able to change it in game is totally inconsistent within DUST. |
