Lets see, today I tried my LAVelies for the first time in 1.4...
- Unable to visually see health-levels of friendly vehicles
- Activating the Polarised Repper brings up a targetting reticule
- Default aim on modules is behind the LAV
- Slowly hitting a parked HAV causes LAVs to blow up
I. Friend health-levels To run a half-decent LogiLAV service, I NEED to be able to see health-levels of friendlies. This is now impossible, unless I stop, jump into the turret, and aim directly at them. Now, you're welcome to say, "Run with team-voice, so people can call out any needs", or "don't play pub-matches", but then what is the point of pub-matches, if not to practice and test things. To be clear: This is NOT acceptable, and is a direct NERF (weee) to LogiLAVs trying to do Logi stuff.
II. Targetting the self-repper When having multiple modules on a LogiLAV, activative my own repper will at times result in getting a targetting reticule. This means I cannot repair my LAV, and will quickly loose it. Again, New Eden, and don't field what you cannot stand to lose, but fair has to be fair - shite has to work! (was also occurring in 1.3)
III. Aiming modules at 6 o'clock. When I trigger a targeted module (incl the self-repper), more often than not, it is aiming backwards. The idea seems to be that I have to race in front of a friendly HAV (and possibly a hostile one) when wanting to repair it. This is suicidal, pure and simple.
IV. American LAVs Going from a standstill to very slowly hitting a HAV caused a Limbus (Gallente LogiLAV) with full health to blow up. This was a LAV with 2600 HP armor and 33% resist (plus some shields), blowing up from driving into a HAV at ca 3 m/s. As we have to be able to get close to HAVs (and even get pushes aside if the HAV needs to flee suddenly), just blowing up from an impact that wouldn't dent a chinese car, means that LogiLAVs are not to be fielded.
PLEASE reverse this insane NERFING you've done over 1.3 and 1.4 (above is more expressed in 1.4 than I've experienced it in 1.3), and make LAVs usable.
(@CCP LogiBro: I hold you personally responsible for getting the LogiLAVs usable as Logistics tools!) |

3.) I hope in 1.5 or beyond CCP would add an AoE (area of effect) Repper that would be easy to use and deploy, and would eliminate the need of targeting a specific vehicle or dropsuit, which is actually pretty difficult when you are trying to rep a whole squad or a group of vehicles.
AoE for Infantry support (infantry reppers, ammo-crates, whatever) is generally wanted, but aiming vehicle-to-vehicle tools is OK, as long as the aiming works, and in a predictable manner. When we get finite ammo and perhaps caps, being able to specify who gets what, will be fairly critical.
Effects such as aiming at the 1st and 2nd target not working in the same way really gets in the way, or the fact that switching modules (or turning them off) causes aiming reticules to appear on non-aimed modules (and vice-versa), making tools useless, currently causes them to be a lot worse than they really need to be. Getting it to work better (less b0rked) will be a big step in the right direction |
