I found myself very confortable with Aim-Assist turned off...I tend to go 10+ kills and 2-3 deaths max, and usually loads of assists like 15+ |

Well with a laser rifle: With aim assist - 15:5 Without aim assist 15:2
However I use the mass driver more often, which didnt get aim assist before 1.4 - 8:3 after 1.4 - 20:4 (what the flux?) |

I don't know why keyboard and mouse were mentioned. Don't people realize DS3 is has a superior strafe? If you're able to aim, anyways. Sigh. Crutches be crutchin', I suppose.
On a more topic thing, I don't use aim assist. I don't need it. I have two thumbs that aren't new to a controller. I can't really give a K/D R, seeing as I use pretty everything in an experimental setup. Generally a 15-2 when I'm not going to use crazy setups.
No vehicles. No AR.
I do miss the mouse action back in the UT days. People just can't aim these days, unfortunately.
Added note: I managed to kill some people with standard Laser Rifle all by my lonesome with no damage mods. Can I have an award? |

Not bad. You think, 1.4 launched Tuesday and we've been playing without AA for quite some time. I'm actually thinking about turning it off cause I don't like how it tugs. I can be a terrorizer without it. |

Yeah I don't use Aim assist either but the turned down strafing speed really helps against the suits that vibrated back and fourth to avoid bullets. |

depends on the match and what i'm using
AR full ato 15-3 with AA 18-3without (note I tend to have a habit of fighting AA then letting it help me it wants to aim for the hit box I want to aim for the player model.)
Forge Gun(doesn't matter it has no AA) 20-2
Burst of Tac AR 20-4 with 21-3 without.
Scrambler rifle 14-5 with 13-4 without not that good with this weapon yet |

It's easier to get head shots with it turned off, and you can spin faster too because there's no drag when you pass your crosshair over an enemy while aim assists is off. Both have advantages, but I prefer it off, just like I do in any other fps. |

We need three things to test if two data sets belong to the same population or not:
1) Sample size 2) Mean 3) Standard deviation
The larger the sample size, the more accurate the test.
A sample size of one point from each population is too small to make any inference. You don't know the degree of variation, so you have no idea how far from the average it might be. The average could be anything.
In this case you would like 20 matches with AA on and another 20 with AA off. |

But this brings up a good point. We've all seen the reticule adhesion in the Russian vid(waiting for more vids where we can see the DS3 simultaneously, personally). If we accept the video at face value, the next question is how much difference does it actually make in a firefight?
Right now i'm thinking that for 1-on-1 if neither party is surprised and both have cover the outcome won't be changed at all. I'd really like to see a vid where peeps test the adhesion when the target steps behind 100% cover.
If it's 1-on-many where the many have AA tuned on the effects will really stack and our solo hardcore gamer is toast.
There are many different scenarios and in a lot of them the AA isn't going to make much difference at all. In other, it will dominate. |

trollolololol, good one bro
turn AA on NEVER ADS! EVER! get crosshair onto enemy, hold down trigger with lollaser-accurate AR release right analog stick watch recoil suck crosshair up to enemy head watch AA keep crosshair on enemy head ????? headshots!
It's almost sad how few people have figured this out really. |

I do about the same with or without it, and about the same as I did in 1.3. (Bog standard B-grade 2.78 KDR, balanced by some 30/2 matches, and some 8/8.)
I think I didn't noticed how strong AA was (Russian video finally convinced me) because I was good and well trained to track my target in CQC from being HMG Heavy, and because I'm Forge Gunning 60% of the time. With it on, I may get one kill a match I didn't deserve now.
Still, it's a rare instance of a feature helping noobs without helping vets even more. If you had good aim to begin with, it doesn't do ****. And any feature that keeps new people playing and not leaving out of frustration from getting steamrolled by vets is a good feature in my book. |
