This is normal, we call it Dual Tanking. I has it's advantages in certain situations, but it's more often than not a foolish fitting. Without any reppers, catalyzers or damage mods he's just a slow and expensive oaf equivalent to a heavy with an assault rifle. |

Speed is irrelevant now.
only 2 factors matter, DPS and EHP. This is what you get in a game where aiming is no longer a factor. |

My Heavy runs ~700 Armor (ADV) and ~550 Shields (STD).
Sounds really great. Any SMG can shred it in two seconds. Do the math. With aim assist the majority of rounds hit so the amount of eHP isn't important, it only has to be large enough for your higher DPS to take them out. The normal solution, it would appear, is the first to get rounds on target will win. Regardless of eHP and Weapon Type.
I am doing fine with my Sever Logi Suit and an Exile or a GEK. The GEK and a grenade is the only item paid for on that fit and I only wear it to kill Reds. If I am actually doing Logi I have much better Fits. |

I'm running the same 600 HP M/1 Logistics with either GEK or SMG as before and doing just fine. Super tanking is just an over reaction to the improved hit detection. Change your tactics a bit, stop running down the middle of the road and know where your enemy is. |

I saw a Gallente Assault - Frontline suit with something like 571 armour.
Which was more than I had on my ADV suit. I basically lost it and bolted. |

I've been experimenting as well. The most I've had was 321 armor and 200 something shields. Kinda slow though but once I skill into more things like adv shields & whatever else related core dropsuit skills like PG and CPu upgrades.(especially CPU for Minmatar dropsuit.) |

I still have that much(561 to be exact) on my Logi and I'm doing fine. Everyone needs to stop whining about the Aim Assist. Whining won't get you anywhere, adapt. |

I have a couple fits like that, they serve there purpose. But are not that good. I'm finding better use out of range amplifiers, and dampeners in my logi gk.0 . Get a flank on any suit they will die with 100hp or 1000hp.
I use the "brick" on one of my laser fits, I will spawn it in on my own drop link ontop of a roof or something where I am not going to move around much. Stand in a repping hive and play whack a mole with my viziam.
Still prefer having high reps/intel over raw ehp. As mentioned its only useful in head to head gunfights where both people stand there and shoot at each other until one dies.

One series of my gK.0 builds is dual tanked.
800A, 300S is no problem. That only with the Enhanced Plates, Complex Extenders.
Let me fit those Complex Plates on there and (I think) I'll be over 1200 HP in an Assault rig.
But, soft as ****.
[Everything (except lasers) gets a bonus to armor damage.]
I agree with previous post about DPS being king right now. DPS and effective range, really. |
