It can't be a game to game suit anymore, its entirely situational. Yes the disabled tacnet is nice, but we die too quickly to be viable in pubs. The auto-aim has killed us, along with stamina and strafing nerfs.
What can we do to bring them back from the brink? |

Add active stealth camo in the game and give it to Scouts.
Activated equipment module (like vehicle modules) with cooldown, gives you the "Predator effect". Attacking or sprinting breaks stealth for a few seconds. Player stills shows up when Active Scanned. (Incentive to fit sig reduction modules with it.)
Would make those ninja nova knifers pretty scary. |

I think if we just increase their Speed, and when CCP decide to tone down AA, we will be much harder to hit, so immunity to AA wouldn't be needed.
Increase their Scan Range though, should be 20 not 10, 10 is the same as the other suits. |

Speed increase. Also scout-centric equipment will really help: Ascension Cables, Jetpacks, and Nano Jump Drives. |

Give Light Frame suits a base of 15m scan range instead of the current 10m. Give Scout suits specifically the unique "Passive scanned targets appear on TACNET" ability.
With that change, we can actually be Scouts without compromising our abilitiy to be useful to the team. The significantly larger range on Active Scanners makes them more effective than even wel-buffed passive scanning, and once they get WP bonuses, those won't apply to a Scout's passive scan, so there's still incentive for Scouts who want to be a dedicated scanner scout instead of just having the scanning as a supporting role.
As for aim assist, as usual, I think it needs to be tweaked, but it WON'T be a real problem for Scouts if it's toned down a little. If you want to avoid being killed in a low-HP suit, avoid being shot. if you have the scan range advantage as I've proposed, you'll be able to see enemies coming before they see you, and as such, you'll be able to more effectively flank and use a stealth approach. |
