...are people using less proto gear now that they get killed more easily? I'm guessing the latter.
My payouts prior to 1.4 were typically 230000 to 240000, when I ended up in the top five. Now, they're rarely above 200000, even if I'm in the top 3. |

People may be spending more time playing the game and less time just driving around blowing up installations.
Almost all the games I play these days are littered with proto guys. I have no idea where they are getting the funds because they die easier. |

Ive also noticed this too (occuring more than it used too), normally when your in the top 3.
I think the top 3 get a bigger portion than what they used too, and the rest get the pot split between them.

Even with corp tax being subtracted , i too, feel that the payout seems to be a bit less. Used to be really easy to pull roughly 400k or slightly less for me and i def. havent changed play style or gotten worse, i still play everyday. Something just seems off. |

My payouts have been down a LOT, then the other day in one of those redline domination borefests I got a payout of 850,000 with 11 kills and 1600 WP.
There were not a lot of clones lost by the other team period, there were few proto suits that I saw and there were no tanks or vehicles killed worth note.
I think it's a crapshoot. |

It could be my imagination, but I think I'm seeing a lot fewer people with absurdly high KDRs at the top of the killboards...which means the top players are dying more, and are probably running less proto gear as a result...that's my guess. |

I've noticed this, too. Payout + Tax seems to be less than Payout in 1.3 GÇö unless I'm screwing up the math and 120k + 8k = 250k. |

Depends on the match type. Im pretty sure payouts are still proportional to the amount destroyed + a cap and distributed proportionally to the total WP on a team.
Ambush is a Proto meat grinder between the hours of 1900EVE and 0600EVE. High WP still get high payouts.
Skirmish.... I hate skirmish
Domination has seemed the same. Though once the Viz hit the field, all the BBs in the pub match give up
My payouts are lower, but I am usually the scanner b**** where I used to run uplinks, so massively less WP. |

The tax effect is definitely not what I'm talking about, I'm very aware of that. Also, the most noticeable ISK amount on the end of battle screen is the amount of ISK before taxes.
I don't know, maybe a larger part, as some have noted, are being awarded to the players at the very top. Maybe it's a mixture of that and people being more cautious about their proto suits. Or maybe it's just a coincidence.

I STILL average 500k and up. Got 800k the other day! The pot gets divided! Isk is awarded for other things then killing! I make more then guys killing 30-40 people! Its ALL about HELPING your team WIN! Hack more, kill less! Watch how much MORE you get! |

I've gotten more than 500k exactly once, and that game I got 2000 more WP than the player in second place on my team. Would you say you're in first place in most games? And are you usually way ahead of the other players in terms of WP? Or do you get these kinds of payouts when you're not in first place? |

I've now been paying more attention to this. I think the reason is that people are using less expensive gear. I've played quite a few games where about 50% of people killing me are in starter fits. Don't laugh - I'm a scout 
This could be due to more new players joining, but I've also noticed several known previous protopubstompers are running around in starter fits, killing me with their militia AR in 0.002 seconds. Or whatever. As soon as they get their sights on me. |

Well with the new improvement through to hit detection fixes and aim assist there are plenty of people wracking havoc with just militia gear.
The formular is simple the more proto and or expensive stuff you kill the higher the payout. In matches where everyone (or the majority) runs cheap fittings there is not much ISK to gain... |

If I am using my proto suit, I get garbage payouts, sometimes less than 100k even though I may have lost 600k that match. However if I am using cheaper suits, my payouts increase greatly, regardless if I got better or worse WP/KDR than when I was using my proto suit.
Seems to be CCP's way of capping out those in proto gear.

My payouts are allot higher then it was in 1.3 i generally average above 300k and ive had 467k last night in a public match and no i didnt hurt any vehicles.
