Seriously this is a load of bullshit. Quit talking out your ass and just admit CCP added a crutch for their **** poor playerbase. That hasn't been able to track targets since the private trials. If you want to play a tactical shooter go play SOCOM and CS. Oh that hurt eh? This game is about war. You don't run around like a nut in war. Even in the future. Good players take cover. Idiots well. Idiots do what your doing right now. |

Being a SCOUT is a 1 man job.
Its not Cod Rush.
Its not supposed to be a team oriented strategy. One sneaks, takes obj, plants uplinks, scans enemies and inform the team of the situation. Other than that we cant survive on our own and playing with a squad with a scout suit is suicide plus beats the purpose. You Aim assist is a silent nerf to everything that is not a mid frame....and that sucks. |

A pro player letting to of his frustration about aim-assist. in this video he missed approx. 2/3 of all his shots... lets talk about how effective aim assist is again and how it works another proof that people QQ about it are scrubs... hit detection is just better now, thats all.
He uses M/KB, that's why he's missing and complaining. He's getting beat by DS users. It's also coming from a guy who used flaylocks exclusively and thought the nerf was a bit too much. I like his videos but am not going to be taking advice from a player that uses easy mode weapons and says KDR doesn't matter but yet goes 20/1 before 1.4. Now he's mad that he's not getting an awesome KDR and loses to 1v1 more often. Hypocrisy at it's finest. |

I'm just curious how much the better hit detection is affecting people's opinions of aim assist? Not everyone knew that you had to compensate for lagging hit boxes or anything of the sort.

I approve seeing aim assist return but no one here wanted it to be so helpful that it's actually tracking the targets for you. It's supposed to nudge you to the target as it passes your reticule, not aim the gun for you. Bit exaggeratted dont you think, I havent felt the aim assist actually move me aim, only change the sensitivity!!
After some testing of my own, disregard what I said about the tracking. It doesn't track the gun as I thought but it seems the bullets are the ones being magnetized towards their target. I then tried the AR without the aim assist and I noticed a significant difference in number of bullets missed. |

It's true he did miss a lot of shots. The AA might be need tweaking downwards but you can see from this video that it's not crazy strong atm.
The bigger problem imo is the damage output of the weapons is due for a recalibration now that hit detection, aiming and aim assist are working.
And this is why all the moaning and wailing and crying over balancing that came before this was a waste of time and resources. It was all for naught.
Now we can start balancing for real - but personally i'd let peeps moan and wail until all the racial suit and weapons were in the game. |

Canari Elphus wrote:Personally, I can see validity on both sides as far as reviews of AIM assist.
The PRO faction - Aim assist makes this game feel like less work to some people. It puts a little more fun back into the game. Players can no longer just stand toe to toe and take on three people. It also adds balance against AOE users who dominated after 1.3
The CON faction - Aim assist is a little too strong. Aim assist consists of two mechanics. The first mechanic helps lead the reticule towards your target while the second helps to keep it on the target. I fully support the first mechanic and believe that it is working fine. However, I believe that the second is what is causing some of the grief on the forums. I think that relaxing this second mechanic will help to make both sides a little happier.
Overall, this new aim assist has changed the game and will require a change to how people play the game.
- You die a lot faster now - Mercs will have to completely rethink their fits and tactics to remain ISK-positive moving forward. When you combine aim-assist with matchmaking, you are going to die more than you are used to.
- Even if you win an engagement, you will be hurting - CQC becomes a whole new ballgame. In the past, you could take on multiple targets in a row and, because they were surprised, they generally would not be aiming to their best ability. More often than not, you would come out with only some of your shields gone. Now, you are going to be in need of a logi.
- Armor and Shields now have a somewhat 'balance' - I say this because armor (with the aide of a logi or rep hive) has now become much better at CQC while shields and their recharge ability are more tailored to hit-and-run and ranged engagements.
- Teamwork is now more important than ever - As stated before, straight 1v1 is a lot more taxing than it used to be. It is now much more beneficial to stay together and have a good diversity of squad members (energy/projectile/hybrid weapons as well as logi support) to be able to consistently move from engagement to engagement.
I think that just tweaking Aim Assist a little bit will help to make this patch shine (that and fixing the whole matchmaking and CQC weapon hit detection thing). I like how it has changed how we play the game but I dont want it to completely erase skill as a deciding factor for an engagement.
Thank you for your time. I think you are giving aim assist too much credit. The people dying faster I because of the hit detection fix more than the aim assist I think. |

My problem is, in part, I loved the psychology of aiming. Making my enemy panic so they can't aim became a regular part of how I play the game. Nothing like a scout jumping out a window you didn't think anyone could or a plasma cannon taking you down to low health out of no where to make people panic. |

it changed the game for me, because i'm speccing into ar's.
got up to geks today, I found I performed better in mid range combat by not touching the right joy stick, just strafe left and right with the left to keep it within the area.
had some average game, and some some astounding games, never had lower then 9/3 had as high as 21/0 can't wait to finish speccing, and get me gallente logi suit. |

TrUtH hUrTz Skill is a made up word when it comes to video games. Running around like a nut with and ar is for fools. Im sure your one of them. Smart players stay behind cover and never go toe to toe with the enemy. Stupid people like talk about something as fake as skill and get shot down by tactical players who use everything to there advantage. The reason you get owned is because they fixed hit detection. Watch out high sp players the tacticians are hitting the warzone. WE WILL TAKE YOU ALL DOWN
