It seems that after the vehicle update (1.5) CCP will have to find something else to work on for dust 514. hmmmm. lets see. what is something that EVERY. SINGLE. PLAYER. wants?
what will keep us playing with our friends days on end earning isk (and SP maybe?probably?) for our growing corporations.
what will keep our corporations on our toes making sure our districts are safe from random attack
what will not only bring old players back but attract and hold the attention of NEW players!
what does this quickly progressing game need right now that will make this game OOOO SOOO MUUUCH BETTER THAN IT ALREADY IS!!?? ( I already love dust the way it is, thank you ccp )
I will tell you what it is. . . ahem. . .
we need to nerf the aim assi- BAHAHAHA JK XD
it is PvE of course :)
-what are the 2 main reason why you want PvE -what are 2 reasons why you think dust needs PvE -what update number should ccp work on PvE <---- tarded question I know haha |

DUST needed PVE a long time ago. Sadly like most content it's taken a backseat for Uprising improvements. I honestly won't expect PVE till next year. |

CCP is already working on PVP, but they definitely should focus first and foremost on the PvP part of the game. If I was to hazard a guess I think it'll be a big enough update to merit the 2.0 branding.
Solid PvE is one of the hardest things to do right in a game. Simply throwing waves of enemies at the player isn't a good game. Making it fun and dynamic involves complex AI systems and a ton of work. |

If they added it I bet alot of these "problems" would never have been as big as they are now/were. I mostly mean AFKing and matchmaking problems but, some other things as well. |

Solid PvE is one of the hardest things to do right in a game. Simply throwing waves of enemies at the player isn't a good game. Making it fun and dynamic involves complex AI systems and a ton of work. World at War Zombies was like this(the 1st map) and many people liked it. I have a feeling though that, with how serious this community is, PvE won't be as fun as everyone thinks it will be. Especially when CCP messes up the smallest little detail |

people would have had another game variant to take part in , rather than having to deal with their patch hates for every possible variation of DUST as is.so yeah , problems wouldn't even have blown up by the userbase the way they have if there was something to take you attention partially from it. |

1.6? No I expect 1.6 will contain infantry balance changes similar to what 1.5 will do for vehicles. I get the impression that they are trying to balance the current game first, before adding new content. They have learned their lesson with the Flaylock Pistol I think.
Post 1.6 and Pre 2.0 should hopefully see the addition of the missing racial variants, dropsuits, guns, vehicles, etc. Then maybe 2.0 will be out next year with PvE. |

when i first seen a trailer for dust i saw mercs fighting drones. i love this as im a pve'r in eve. so i went out n bought a ps3 and gotdust. then looked for 3 days how to play pve. tbh this was a bit of false advertising and i was sorely disapointed but i understand there are other things that are more pressing. i just felt disapointed they would advertise something in the trailer that they didnt have. i hope they bring it out soon but then afain i hope for lots of things in dust. like an induatry path even if it is corp based. maybe a way to practice with your mates on your districts, pve, same number of suits and vehicals for all races. but theres tons to do and manpower only goes so far so fast. but please work on this. |

CCP revealed some concept art where there would be these pods that would release drones that mercs could control. When and if that's happening for sure, I don't know. But I remember Brendan talking about it at FanFest, if I'm not mistaken. |

Realistically PvE can really set this game apart, especially if it's still team, or squad based. It can give some older players a break, and bring in newer players.
I would hope ccp is at least thinking about some pve ideas that are just as bold as dust514
However, they should definitely keep focusing their efforts into making the game balanced, fun, and in working order. At least that's what I think.
As far as when? I'd say as soon as theyre ready.

we need to get a petition rolling to get ccp to focus on pve. this game has too many flaws with pvp and too many people squabbling at each other. if we had something that ccp built to distract us while they fixed the game, it might be more enjoyable. we need something that's fun and achievement based. |

Hopefully those two PVE modes he mentions in the video aren't the only ones they are working on.... They sound so generic.
EVE offers much more scope for PVE than that and should use the EVE/DUST link to make DUST more visible.
I'm talking MERC involvement in Incursions and Station Raids where eve pilots see the site spawn in eve as an anomaly to be scanned down - Maybe this could also provide those in eve with something to do (made have the dust mission made a bit easier with capsulier support i.e. the eve pilots have to destroy a shield generator and that means that the dust guys don't have to hack several points to access the endgame of the mission).
There is lots that could be done.... go and shoot drones is hopefully just the foot in the door of PVE. |

-what are 2 reasons why you think dust needs PvE
1) if implemented right, PVE could be a link between DUST/EVE - whether it's killing drones for salvage, scanning/hacking missions for item blueprints or WH locations or the like, mineral heists/escort missions etc.
2) NPE much easier to craft with a PVE element in the game.

Probably after 1.6 :(
It makes sense to get racial content out first and that would be December earlier I'm guessing....

No i think they have the right idea. Fixing core mechanics and balancing this like rifles vs explosives is good to do before adding in more rifles and explosives.
Looks at how fast the meta is changing with aiming fixed? Maybe the MD didnt need the nerfs 40% of the forum was crying out for?
Or how about fixing tanks before adding in more AV? I think that's probably a good idea.
It takes a long time and it sucks but I'm glad they are figuring out their current lineup now instead of adding a bunch of stuff to an already imbalanced and problematic game and then having to rebalance everything. They can design weapons with how it fits the current meta they are trying to build. |

Damn the truth hurts. Yeah, but would we rather a solid pvp experience and wait (most likely until Fanfest 2014) for a good pve experience, or would you rather them push out pve at the expense of the core shooter mechanic? That doesn't sound that appealing to me, considering that doing so would effectively "drive" everyone to pve, which, for a multiplayer shooter, doesn't sound that appetizing.
I'd much rather have new maps, all weapons, all dropsuits, new equipment, new vehicles, etc. before we get pve. At least at that point, it'd just be a matter of adding drones into already existing maps and content.
