Aim Assist was disabled in 1.3. Regardless of what your system operation settings said. I think the point being made was that we haven't had aim assist in game since chromosome. Whether or not that's true I'm not sure, but I know we definitely didn't have it last build |

I swear that there was a difference when i played with enabled or disabled aim assist in the system operation setting in 1.3! Im definitely sure about that .
Maybe we are talking about different definitions off aim assist!? As i dont know how CCP define aim assist and implement it in their system, i can just say that there was a difference. It felt different and the bullets found their path to the enemy in a different way.
It's impossible that this system setting didnt make an impact on the game behaviour at all. Or im the greatest moron in this game .

Like Monkey MAC mentioned, the aim assist consists of two separate functions, of which (as far as i remember and understood) only one wasn't enabled until 1.4. So probably not the greatest moron around here, Theex. ;)
On topic: It changes the game drasticly, but i see more positiv than negativ things comming from it. For example: It makes the game a lot more beginner friendly, which was needed badly, and is a necessary counter to the silly idea of mouse support in a console FPS.
Having skill at this game consists of more than just being a good shot. So one can still stand out, if that wasn't all he brings to the table. And even though new guys have it a lot easier to hit you now, the old once still have at least double the amount of hitpoints.
Is it too strong? Maybe. Hard to tell, me thinks. Might be easier to answer in a couple of days, maybe weeks, when people had time to adjust.
Also i'm biased. I always had terrible aim. |

But I'm pretty sure they DID have Aim Assist when Uprising first dropped - they took it out because it was (as it had been previously) glitchy and not working as intended. |

But in combination with the aimbot it becomes even more intense Maybe that's what CCP was aiming for. In real gun fights it's about cover not who has the better dougi. this fairly much sums it up for me. though to be fair, if this is the case perhaps Heavy Suits need a 1:1 strafe speed buff. They are already so slow that i can't see a problem with them being the only suits where strafe is the same speed as forward speed.
Wait CCP had to give everyone computer generated aim and tracking to make people use cover? Are you real people or just robot's fml..... |

The OP's feedback is oversimplified. It just needs a slight adjustment. Either that or the scouts should get a major buff. |

This whole aim assist crying is stupid, honestly it seems more of a psychological issue than anything. For example, let's say you bought a new bracelet and never take it off, when you put it on your arm will feel heavy, you will feel the bracelet hitting your armor, you will hear it etc, now 2 weeks down the line you wont notice these things that's because you got used to it. Now take it off, your arm will feel light, your brain will miss the noise and the feeling of it.
The difference in aiming that AA provides is decent, and it helps, but it is not doing the aiming for you, its not doing the shooting, its not doing the strafing WHILE staying on target all of that is done by you the reason our AA is more VISIBLY noticeable in this game is because this game allows KB/M play, but every single FPS has aim assist. |

Iirc they removed aim assist half way through chromosome build because during firefights between more than one enemy in your crosshairs (movement) it would cause your aim to snap between the two closest objects to the center of your reticle. They had been working on a fix since then. This implementation of their new version of aim assist has obviously been a little too strong, With some further tweaking in the following weeks, I imagine they will get it right. (If they actually focus on it) |

That would be fine if the maps weren't 90% big open fields. Most of the cover is so far away from the next piece that the auto-aim makes it impossible to get from one piece of cover to the next before the person across the way hipfire kills you.

I completely disagree. The AA is insane. Try hipfiring a laser or TAC from medium-long range. The game practically plays itself. |
