You don't notice the aim assist on it? FUNNY THAT. |

And I'm also against the level of aim assist in the game, though I'm not against them having it in at all. |

The point i was making is mouse and keyboard is vastly superior to a pad, the assist levels the playing field.
In fact, if CCP didn't pander to the lazy, pc elitists, then there would be no need for aim assist. The playing field would already be level. Unless the devs allow mouse users to turn faster than the speed cap on the sixaxis, the mouse and keyboard only has a slight precision advantage in aiming, which is almost entirely negated by the precision advantage sixaxis users have for movement.
I haven't tried mouse aim since the update, but several people have said the hard cap is still in place on mouse aiming, which means there isn't any real advantage and aim assist is unnecessary. The aim friction we get where your aim slows down over a target which isn't affected by the aim assist on/off setting) is plenty to even up the control schemes without a heavy-handed aimbot like I experienced yesterday. |

So on my first encounter with aim assist on day 1, either they tweaked it since, or I had a glitchy match.
Because I've gone and tested it properly today to make sure, and it's there, but it's nowhere near as harsh as it had been that first time.
I only used ARs and Scrambler Rifles though, and the worst I've heard was from Laser users, so it may be a problem with Lasers, or an intermittent problem (like every iteration of aim assist in DUST has had previously). I won't rule anything out just yet, but with a larger test sample, and this time consciously focusing on testing it rather than just getting annoyed by it doing things that, while awesome, weren't what I was trying to do. |
