If you think it's so harmful and game breaking then go make a video of it in use and prove it. I played fine before aim assisting, I play fine after aim assist and your insinuations otherwise are petty playground antics. Straighten up and let's discuss this like adults instead of **** flinging. |

It needs to be brought back down to Halo levels. Yes, I did, but the two games are incomparable. Halo is more of an arena shooter and the engagements are very different from Dust. Additionally, modern Halo games have extensive aim assist in the form of bullet magnetism whereby your shots withing a certain proximity of an enemy actually home in on the enemy.

Because I'm not keen on wading through his rambling whinging to try to find it myself without annotations. |

See: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RWaDwsGb1c0 I don't think that's an accurate assessment. I have been playing Halo since the birth of Halo: Combat Evolved, through Halo 2, Halo 3, Halo ODST, Halo Reach, and now Halo 4. And I still play Halo every week with my friends on game night. From my own experience and observations over the years, the aim assist works by slightly nudging your weapon as the enemy passes by your reticule. It's like a slight track to help you with aiming on a console controller. And I have been testing this on every weapon. The sniper rifle, binary rifle, DMR, SAW, assault rifle, tactical rifle, covenant carbine, rocket launcher, needler, etc. The only two weapons that have any kind of homing ability for their ammo alone is either the rocket launcher (after locking on) or the covenant needler. In Dust, the aim assist we have now is turning bullets into magnets. The aim assist was support to nudge the gun, not the bullets. It does nudge in Halo, but it also magnetizes the bullets. The fact that you don't agree with the reality of it is hardly any of my concern. Halo games have, over the years, gradually increased the amount of assists. The first Halo game had zero magnetism, this is demonstrable, but the more recent ones are more severe. The fact that you're trying to prop it up as a pillar of aim assist design despite this is laughable. As for the accusations that Dust has magnetism, I'd like to see some actual proof of this. |

What are the minute markers for his footage with aim assist? All I saw in skimming the first video was a single case of shoddy hit detection and possibly server latency that he immediately laid at the feet of the new "aimbot". |

Damn it, it didn't copy the proper link. I told the browser to copy the link at the specified time, but instead it just copied the old link without the time. It's about about 1:15 or 1:40 into the video of the first link. The second link is all about the aim assist. The single instance in the first video of aim assist, like I said earlier, is a hit detection issue first and foremost.
As for the second video, he continuously misconstrues new hit detection mechanics as aim assist. It's easier to shoot people now for a number of reasons, not just aim assist, but aim assist is what he blames for all of it. The fact that he's being elitist about aim assist after using M + KB for so long and having such a large advantage for so long is ridiculous. It's really a combination issue, but he ignores it all in favor of blaming aim assist. |
