The proposal is in the title; reasoning follows below.
My main fitting has two basic reactive plates on the low slots, with CPU and PG to spare. Although I could replace one of the plates with an enhanced reactive plate, I don't bother. Why? Because this would give me only 15HP extra armour at the cost of -1% movement speed; there is no change in armour repair (1HP/S). 15HP is less than half the damage of a militia AR round, and not at all worth it for the loss of speed. Furthermore, the complex reactive plate dominates the enhanced reactive plate, being better in terms of both HP and armour repair, with no increase in movement penalty.
Please CCP, give the enhanced reactive plate some love and remove the movement penalty. This would make it slightly better than the basic plate (extra 15HP) and slightly worse than the complex plate (the 1% movement penalty on the complex plate would just about be worth it for the 20 extra HP and extra 1HP/S). In other words, each of the plates would be useful, depending on available CPU/PG, rather than the current situation, where only the basic and complex are viable. |

No other support for this idea? The enhanced reactive plate really is useless as it stands; no point in it being in the game. |

Instead of tweaking the movement penalty, what if the repair rate was 1/2/3 on the standard, enhanced, and complex reactive plates? |

But the complex is a pretty nice plate as it is, give it some extra repair with no drawbacks and it would be OP. I guess you could compensate by increasing the complex plate movement penalty, but that seems like a lot of changes to make given the complex plate is good where it is now. As the problem is only with the enhanced plate, I think that's where the fix should be applied. |
