Only thing I can think of is that if player-to-player trading was in the game this would be an acceptable way to build an AUR-gear armory to trick out your mid-tier corp in proto suits and weapons while conserving ISK reserves.
Maybe one day we'll be able to buy clone packs for AUR |

Or both for 200k. Either way you split it it's still mental.
Think about it, that's paying the price of The Last of Us, for consumable weapons and suits, in a game that isn't anywhere near a finished product... |

A company ought to have a realistic valuation of its product. The only people I see buying this are those who've suffered collisions to the head. That's not a base to build your business on. |

It is important to keep the value of aurum up if we are ever going to have an open marked in Dust. Selling aurum for less will deflated the prices of everything in Dust. |

Alternatively, they could sell no aurum at all because the players laugh at the stupidly inflated price they're trying to peddle their consumable crap at. |

Consumers can just stop buying aurum if they find it too expensive, simple solution. |

Pretty sure no-one will be buying aurum to pick up an Allotek pack, that's for sure. |

The best part is they are charging real money for this item to be used in this beta test
You know they 're gonna have to nerf these weapon too right?
They don't play test .... and maybe on purpose so that people gobble the OP weapons up and then after they've made some money they will go..... "The community has spoken !!! These ...IDK ...... fused grenades for instance .....are OP and we've made our money so were gonna change them .
This is standard practice with DCUO , Make a certain power OP with update or when they release a new power ...everyone buys re-spec tokens to be OP FOTM ..... then they take about a month or 2 to correct it . So everyone buys more respec token to go back to their old power or on to the next FOTM .
This is new territory in that were buying digital items. It's a terrible practice that IF these companies are allowed to get away with will become the norm for gaming companies . Online passes , No used games on the new xbox , limiting the amount of digital copies your allowed to share from 5 to 2 .
They make these crazy rules that most companies couldn't get away with in any industry but because we're all just stupid gamers........ right? |

You sir, clearly have an issue with people making more than enough money to spare a few pennies on this pack. I would be surprised if CCP has not already made an marked analysis of its customers. Put this on the marked as some players are willing to pay for it. Like in real life you have luxury items only a few can afford, things that are unnecessary in your daily life but still nice to have. |

There will always be plenty of idiots who like to buy expensive badges (see Apple customers), it's true. However, I think you are giving CCP far too much credit on them having done any kind of analysis. Remember, this is the company that needed to actually experiment with a 400 wp limit for the Academy to see it was a bad idea. The rest of us needed half a second of thought. |

How many fools do you see sporting monocles on their EVE avatar? Not very many.
A company should price things in order to cover the production cost firstly and to turn a tidy profit thereafter. If they price monocles to sell at one a day (I'm guessing), how many expenses does that cover? |

How many items there? How many copies of each? If buying the normal AUR equivalent, how much would that amount of those items cost?
If they're offering BPOs of anything above Standard tier, I have a problem with that. If these are retooled Standard (or Militia) items, and they're BPOs, that's probably a reasonable deal for what you're getting (compared with normal BPO prices). If you get a huge amount of each item, then that also works, because you're buying with a bulk discount of sorts. |

The monocle was never meant to be bought with cash. It was designed as a way for "space-rich" people to burn PLEX. A little monocle vs 4 months of server operation costs... and ostensibly they started with the "low end" items intending to reach even higher.

You get 4x dropsuits, 4x weapons, 4x boosters AND 200,000 Aurum.
