I heard there are other maps / battle fields. Whatever those mean It's the core that powers the facility
Primarily for the weapons tower testing. ;) |

Minmatar and Amarr ones should take priority since they currently have none. That will be the 3rd Caldari outpost, CCP really loves Caldari
Yes, these are the official SI sets though. This was just the order they were served up to us to do them. As I stated before, I have already seen a few instances of concept artists doing some conceptualization / art exploration of the Amarr syle as well. I just remember seeing a cathedral looking place with some shiny metallic gold like stuff. Very gold, techno goth stuff going on. They are coming. |

This outpost is my favorite, like I have said before, lots of indoor chokepoints, and multiple floors on the outside. A little bit of Seine Crossing mixed with Quake deathmatch feeling.
My Plasma Cannon and I look forward to this! |

Ahhhh... a nod to my roots. Quake DM. It's bound to spill over at some point into things I make haha. |

Daddrobit wrote:So I was taking a gander at this 1.4 blog and was thinking, "ok, so this might be cool, fighting in a laboratory-esque battleground, that'll be refreshing to see something other than cargo containers and the occasional console." Then I read this part: Main Research Facility and Administrative Offices: The lower floor of this area contains the storage depot, where incoming supplies are delivered and stored until needed. The upper floors house administrative offices and micro-labs, which are locked down and inaccessible while under attack.Nevermind, just more cargo containers. Making a laboratory based battleground that, "should look and feel like a real working laboratory, the sort filled with people in lab coats." LOLNOPE. Have some more cargo boxes.
Cargo containers in the supply warehouse. Yes. That is the case. Cargo containers anywhere else in the facility? Pretty much nope.
Edit: You will also find some cargo containers under the landing pad (medium socket) next to the cargo elevator. |

Edit: You will also find some cargo containers under the landing pad (medium socket) next to the cargo elevator. But is there anything in the map that actually points out to the player saying, "Hey, this is a science facility! Look over here, this stuff is all scienc-ey, it's where people do science!" or is it gonna be a series of corridors and rooms with maybe a few consoles and placards on walls next to closed doors saying they're science rooms while possibly, (hopefully) making a Portal reference or two. Sure, it looks all futuristic in it's aesthetic design, and if it were thrown into the BF3 map pool you could probably get them to think it was a science facility without much else. But here's what I'm concerned about: It's no more science-ey than any other installations in Dust. It really to me just doesn't stand out or look like a science installation any more than say Communications or Biomass. There's nothing here that -really- contrasts against anything else in the game. Throw in a CQC section or two that are clean rooms rather than just having signs on the wall saying LAB:01and we'll be in business. I'm just saying it's rather disappointing to be told, "Yeah, this is a science facility, you just have to imagine that science goes on behind those closed doors over there that say 'LAB:01'. Now go take cover behind those crates."
We would have loved to add more detail, but the technical budget didn't allow for it.
We hope you enjoy the outpost when you get to play it, and we look forward to hearing your feedback on it.
