Politics, reputation, rules, secrecy, restricted communication, and so on.
Lighten up, throw some ****, and then laugh about it. It's a game, stop losing your minds over it. So what if someone says something that could start a flame war/ corp war. There's no reason to be all "HE DOES NOT REPRESENT OUR CORP!!11!1!!" and then promptly send him warning messages about his behavior. It's the internet.
Lighten up, and empty out your care cups.

in all honesty, in a sense the political and social aspects of this game are far greater and more engaging than in real life, in real life you cant slip into the defenses of your enemy when you want and gather all secret information without being detected and survive, in real life you have no control or influence over the government you live in, in real life you cant negotiate between 2 or more countries at war... its nearly impossible, in EVE online and here you do have chances to do this.
this game is far more engaging that real life in some aspects. |

I'd like to correct a common misconception that usually generates threads like this: People aren't really that emotionally invested around here.
Half the time someone is typing inflamatory drivel on these forums, they are sitting with a laptop in the family room enjoying time with their wife and kids* and are actually quite happy. Saying "OMFG You scrub ass losers get a life" does not imply actual IRL butthurt, just in-game butthurt which is completely different ... just playing a role on the forum.
*or alone in the dark surrounded by mountain dew watching pron on a second screen and drooling. |
