I'm a tanker, and I think this plan is silly.
THE ARMY recovers the salvage, not you personally.
Guess what? The game already accounts for this. More value in destroyed assets means more value in post-match rewards. If lots of tanks die in battle, BOTH sides earn lots more money. If lots of protosuits are murdered, both sides earn more.
Also, your salvage is at least loosely tied to the amount and quality of gear destroyed in the match |

Tankers wouldn't complain that PRO>STD if we got anything better than STD in the way of HAVs.
Yes, there are Proto turrets, and there will be Proto modules coming (but not here yet). That doesn't solve the problem of no Proto HAVs to fit them on, and limited enough PG/CPU that we can't create decent fits around the single, solitary Proto turret/module we're likely to be able to cram into our overly-restrictive limit that we can't upgrade like you can on a Dropsuit because your fitting skills actually work and ours don't. |

Also, your salvage is at least loosely tied to the amount and quality of gear destroyed in the match Dude, I have lost my Falchion before and gone 20-1, I made 250k isk..
Did you kill lots of valuable targets who brought expensive gear? Or were they all running starter fits or modded starter fits or moslty Militia/BPO gear? What about your teammates? With a 250k payout, your Falchion was probably the single most expensive loss anyone in the entire match suffered.
Just because you lost one expensive item, doesn't mean that was backed by everyone else losing a whole lot of expensive gear. |
