Iv been using the few million SP I don't have used for the Gallente Assault dropsuit, when I was looking through weapons I wanted to use, I came across the remaining 2 aurum flaylocks I had left from when I wanted to test it out.
When I used it I noticed that the flaylock had no splash damage whatsoever, even when the enemy was 1 ft way from the explosion site, he took no damage, the only way I could het a hit and do some damage was to get a direct impact, the direct impact damage did suit the level of the weapon I was using and I have no complaints on it.
does anyone else experience this when they are using it? |

The flaylock's splash was nerfed (and rightly so) so it might not be quite what you expected. I can assure you that it's there however - I still aim at people's feet and have some success with the current iteration of the flaylock.
EDIT: It's in a much better place now than it was when you barely had to fire in the general direction of the target. |

Do you have any skills into flaylocks? And yeah they're blast radius is quite small now. |

Bug, happens on the Plasma cannon too. Also, a lot of shots from the Scrambler rifle fail to register or register blue, usually charged shots. |

honestly no, I was interested in doing so a while back, but then I decided to just buy aurum ones so I could test how it works, needless to say I didn't skill into them. however this time I wasn't even trying to test it, I was just using it up so until it was gone that's when I noticed it.
so it is the fact that I don't have any SP in flaylocks? |

CCP nerfed the crap out of it so people would quit spamming the crap out of it.
Its important to note that it is no longer an alternative to the Scrambler Pistol or the SMG, it is its own class like nova knives.
If you want to use it well, use it like a sniper rifle that arcs and only goes 50 feet or so. |

I have proficiency 3 since the start of Uprising I decided from the videos it would be better than the SMG ... it was ... a little too much so.
Now it is completely useless ... I haven't caused a hp of damage with it since it was nerfed, even landing shots at someones feet or center of body ... I stopped using it long ago and started skilling SMG again.
Dunno if it's lag, hit detection or what, but it just doesn't work now. |

You gotta get the proto for a 1.5m splash radius and each level of operation adds 5% splash radius, It's still good but IT IS a sidearm now. Basically you need proto to use the splash radius effectively, and you'll need proficiency 5 with damage mods if you want to use it as a primary. That being said if you have a min assault proto, dual weilded core FPs, prof 5, and 3 complex damage mods, it becomes better than most guns in the game. |

does anyone else experience this when they are using it? They are very good when you hit people though, jump, get some air and make it rain. |

I was bored with SMGs when that first video came out showcasing the Flaylocks. I went right into the Protos, no proficiency.
This, while Shotguns were my favorite weapon.
Needless to say, my Shotgun/Flaylock builds are the epitome of trash suits.

Unlike the SMG, the weapon sucks without some SP investment in its skills. The ADV still works, the STD versions are trash.

Now I am confused.
So before, it was everyone complaining about how flaylocks are MASSIVELY OP!!
And now they suck.
And btw, the standard flay lock sucked BEFORE the patch. It didn't get good until adv level. |

It's great at finishing off shield and hybrid tankers.
Among other uses, it can bleed out mercs, disable equipment and, my favorite, ruin a dropship pilot's day |

Each time you skill into the flaylock operation level you gain a 5% increase in blast radius. So in order to become an effective flaylocker you must skill into the operation levels to gain that blast radius levels. Also I run flaylock level one operation levels and I still get effective kills because my shots are dead on or I force enemies into corners than shoot the wall near them. Flaylock is used for finishing moves, when the shield of your enemies are down. They will die very quickly once their shields are down. |

The proto version is alright, the other versions are jokes. I'd say they should all get a small splash radius buff, and the lower tier should be brought closer to the prototype version in terms of blast radius. The damage is fine however. |
