The lore truth is that we are all descendants from earth, however almost no one knows this and anyone who goes public with it is considered a looney. Otherwise we know nothing about what happened to human society on the other side of the gate. The Jovians just happened to recover first.
That is lore. |

just try posting that in the Intergalactic Summit, see what happens....
But back on topic I love star wars more, Trek has better movies for the most part (unless you count Episodes 5+6), but star wars has FAR better books. |

Well, since they change the lore whenever they want to suit whatever changes in game design appear, I think it's irrelevant. In addition to this, an ex-player who now works for CCP is trying to change the lore to suit his own personal interpretation of the mechanics of the pod and pod technology in general. Example in point, the liquid in the pod is now breathable liquid versus oxygen tubes as they are/were written to be.
If you think it's bad when fan made fiction breaks lore, think how bad it is when someone with zero video game industry experience or creative professional writing background attempts to make fundamental changes on an egotistical whim.
The terrans actually evolved into pink elephants btw... |

Star Trek ftw. Star wars is only good because the movies came out when there were very few major SciFi movies being made that were not totally horrible. Star Trek is better because of it seems more real. Also Star Trek gave us a lot of today's technology and Star Wars only gave us empty plots, bad acting and shallow characters. I love them both but Star Trek is better. |

I love them both but Star Trek is better. I can only agree with that SW had one shallow character.
Episode 6 Luke. His depth was about as much as a puddle in Death Valley.
But otherwise, th Star Wars movies has a nice plot, and a ton of great characters besides the one noted.
For me however, its all about simply its a fart load easier to watch a few one hour TV shows, then three 2 hour movies.
One thing that make firefly 30 times better then everyone, is it combines the endearablity of Star Wars characters, with the space ship/tech/thought process based story telling of ST, along with its own flair in writing and the atmosphere.
God there must be a season two...
Until then however, reruns FTW! |

I love both.
But all things considered, Star Wars > Star Trek. I remember borrowing the original 3 Star Wars films repeatedly from my public library as a kid and watching them to death. My childhood literally was Star Wars. The new three films though...don't get me started.
I also think both of the new Star Trek movies are pretty cool! CCP Saberwing // DUST 514 Community Manager |

Signed Jar Jar Binks Worst character ever outside of Ewoks I don't know. Maybe I was at the "right" age when Phantom Menace came out but I liked Jar Jar Binks and thought he was hilarious. I remember I used to have a Jar Jar plushee.
I also used to think Attack of the Clones was an awesome "romantic" movie, soooo, maybe everything looks better in hindsight. |
