Biblically speaking, 3 and 4 are both holy numbers. Three of course from the holy trinity (Father, Son, Holy Spirit). Four is more about creation (since three is the Holy Trinity, plus one is His creation). And you can think of it with creation as the four elements (earth, air, fire, water), the four seasons (Summer, Autumn, Winter, Spring), the four directions (North, South, East, West), etc.

Just a little insight on number symbolism for anyone interested.
