Yeah, a lot of heavies last night, but it's not like they controlled the game. Isk is right, they were too slow without the LAVs and were big targets.
Isk, we'll take the [STARTER FIT] feedback into account. But the only way we'll know if it's fun or works is if we actually try it. And I suggest we try all of these different ideas multiple times before we land on the end product.
I, personally, think [STARTER FIT] would be fun because it forces people/teams to adapt more. It's no different than Meta Level 1 in that regard except it takes it up a notch. There were plenty of Se\7eNs last night that have used the majority--if not all--of their skill points in vehicles. However, because of the no vehicles rule, they had to adapt.
I think these types of games--with restraints--are fun and bring a different aspect to Dust. Heck, we could have a tournament where everyone can only wear Heavy suits, and you still can't have vehicles. How interesting would that be without an equipment slot and being that slow.
Not the best idea in the world, but it would still be fun. And I have no SP in Heavies, but I would still participate and have a great time. |

While D-UNI doesn't have a district on PFC, I think we might be interested in participating. I'll have to talk it over with the other directors. |

I agree with Isk, I donGÇÖt think I would be interested in playing if I had to use starter fits with no mods. It's not hard to tell your entire corp / team to ONLY fit lvl 1 gear period. Everything from the drop suit, equipment, mods, weapon - EVERYTHING lvl 1 or less, no questions asked. If they cant agree to that then dont let them play; if they break a rule fine or keep them out of the next fight. Even in these practice rounds. If your team breaks the rules in the real tourney - automatic DQ.
The point to all of this is to have fun. Starter fits are in no way as fun as using lvl 1 equipment & Mods. All everyone needs is a little discipline, respect for the game and everyone who participates. We're not all 15 yrs old and cant follow a set of rules...... wait or are we??? Seriously, lvl 1 everything no questions asked.

This was something new for Hellstorm but not new to me because Crimewave used to do this 95% of the time for theri Corp battles back in closed beta
The Meta 1 rule is make for an extremely fun time for both
Glad you guys enjoyed the match just as much as us
The Starter fits only will only benefit those of us that have actually spec'd into Assault Rifles, Sniper rifle, SMG and Swarms
A person like myself would be SOL just likea fresh newberry out of the academy
one last thing, Thank you to those of you who constantly kept on pushing Delta. I truely apreciate excellent effort
Great fight and I will do my best to bring beer next time and better music |

I am a logi and all my sp is spent on that role. Starter fits would not allow me to do my job very well. I like the lvl 1 restriction because it does allow for some interesting play styles and it doesn't exclude any weapons or gear. Besides my logi g1 has 3 equipment slots...I don't know what to do with out my utility belt...

All right, we'll stick to Meta Level 1 for right now, but we need to have as "pure" of a match as possible before making the final decision. So, do we think we can enforce a match where only Level one gear is used...all of it?
Once it comes to the tournament, I think we would have to have strict rules. If a team has anyone break the rules, they automatically lose the game. I think that's fair. They can still yell at the player, boot him from the corp, etc., yet they live to fight the next battle.
Or we could crown a winner by win % and not by amount of wins. Then, if you cheat, you get two losses on your record. I think this will discourage corps that are already losing from grabbing proto stuff at the end of a game just to be stupid. I can see that thought crossing someone's mind: "hey, we're already losing; let's wear proto and win the match just to get the ISK. We already have the loss."
There will have to be a lot of trust for this stuff and pics. We can set everything up on our website. |

The problem is modules can only be determined as salvage. There is no way of knowing from what team they came.
As I posted proto suits and weapons are easy to spot.
If we allow modules of any meta and restrict weapons and suits to meta 1 the problem of cheating disappears. |

This is being done mostly for the pure fun of it so it will suck so much if one team resorts to lying about the salvage
Win or lose, these battles can be extremely fun so why sully with dishonesty?
in all honesty, the fight against Seven was the most fun I had in PC since Hellstorm fought against The Bunnys the first week of PC
And I do look forward to more matches of the same level of fun and skill |

i dont think an official date for this tourny has yet to be set unless I missed it
I am all for exhibition/practice matches before this swing into full throttle
I really do this catches on more with the others Corps out there and want to take part. It is what 10 mil to take part? Not that hard to pay for entry fee especially now that we dust players now have taxes to help fund our respective Corps for fun things like this

To the credit of MSF they were down 3 players and still beat us.

Well, I'm sorry to say that someone else will need to take over this tournament idea. Our PFC district was attacked last night and taken. It was the first match I couldn't make it; so, information is still funneling in.
Sounds like we only had 4 guys; they had 11.
This, and the Hellstorm battle the other day, are just glaring examples that Se\7eN does not belong on PFC. We can't consistently field 16 guys, even with 24 hours notice.
I ask everyone to welcome their new neighbors and not kick them off. It sounds like they took the district fair and square. We could, of course, get our 16 best and take it back, but it will simply lead to us having the same issue of not fielding 16 on a consistent basis.
I appreciate the great battles and tip my hat to all the corps that wanted to have fun and play the game right. If Se\7eN can get some of our core players back to Dust, you'll see us back in PC.
