So, something is starting to bug me when I go into games. I'm popping people, turning around and patching people up. They give me this weird turn and stare, and often several other blues turn to stare too. What the hell am I doing wrong?

Its not that your doing something wrong, infact its that your doing something right, people always look at there healer as a sign of appreciation, everyone else is clearly dumfounded someone is actually healing!!

its freaking weird...the medic bends backwards at the waist until his head hits his ass and whips forward and shoves that needle in 1000 times harder than in "Pulp Fiction"....

This is a new graphics bug in 1.3 ... previous animation made a lot more sense. It doesn't affect gameplay, but since it is so jarring aesthetically, it is a huge blatant "this game is horribly unfinished and buggy" sign that is not exactly inspiring.
ALSO ... the universal "thank you" seems to be to quickly crouch/uncrouch if the combat situation allows it. Sort of like the universal symbol for "gimme ammo *****!!!" is to melee randomly while circling a logi, shooting them with a sidearm, and quickly switching back and forth between guns in front of logis... hint taken. Jumping around just makes me think you are a really fervent bunny hopper who is going to run out of my rep range aaaaaanny second.
In other news, don't shoot logis with your sidearm. Besides the fact that FF hit markers are going away in 1.4, you're wasting what little ammo you have left in the futile hope we have hives left... we don't. |

A few small jumps is well accepted as a sign gratitude and don't be suprised if the Logi answer in the same way as a sign of respect (although all in all this may look a bit silly) |

This is almost the same loadout I use quite often. I run repair tools on literally every suit that isn't a heavy. Its a useful tool, most people I play with have hives, on occasion injectors, but rarely rep tools, unless their a logi. Some people do get really confused by me healing them as a scout. |

Used to (i.e. as recently as this week lol) get yelled at in PC for repping instead of trying to kill the enemy lol. Beyond my general noobishness, little do they know when this happens it means my clip is almost empty from a previous engagement and I can rep to try to save a clone faster than reload. Works well if they are Gallente/Amarr ... not so much for fellow shield tankers or against explosive spam. Is a judgement call but... have basically given up like everyone else and just stack on the uplinks and hives.

In a post i made a while ago, talking about roles and sizes of suits, i brought up that roles are something that should cross suit sizes, and should not be locked into a specific frame. I think some people at the time though the idea of light/heavy logistics as a odd / funny idea.
Your fit is along the lines of what i hoped a light logistics could be. You are fast, able to keep up with squads, you are able to more proactively rep, instead of doing a more 'clean up' role that mediums get. Thanks for sharing your fit

This could work - I mean light logis like you say, would be able to get in and out of active combat easier. Be great if they ever introduce burst armour or shield rep tools, or deploying those once mentioned 'bubble shields' on the front line A heavy logi would be defensive I guess, especially if they introduce AOE mods to make them a walking Triage Hive type thing.
Of course, suits bonuses would encourage using these mods for these frames...
Sigh, everyday I want tiercide even more...
Anyway, I've got rep scout fit myself - not tried it yet, still experimenting with various equipment types to use when I have uplinks set up where I want already, but practicing with the AScanner and REs has taken priority so far... |

Didn't you know?
Shotgun Scouts are selfish K/D kittens, and don't play for the team. It's WRONG for you to bring a Repair Tool because Repair Tools are HELPFUL and your role ISN'T.
At least that's what they told me last time I was doing basically the same thing you described... except my Scout suit has an Armour Repairer because they help a LOT for survivability.
Spkr4theDead wrote:Smooth Assassin wrote:No armor repair? HELL no armor??!?!?! now i'm confused It's a scout. Do you want to be burdened by armor? You know Armour Repairers aren't Plates, and don't slow you down, right? No? You should work on that. Repairer means that, like your targets with the Repair Tool, you live longer because your Armour comes back after being damaged. |
