hi i am trying to discover all the possible roles (professions, nitchs, etc.) in game. useless or not. currently i have....
vehicle pilot/driver dropship transport ship dessert wasp (or assault dropships) tank rail sniper anti infantry artillery (missiles from a distance(i have seen them be pretty grusome)) LAV mobile rep murder taxis scout ninja knifer assassin (regular ninja knifer) steath demolition (for red lining rail tanks shotty scouts hacker (data miners and typically avoid enemies) distractions (typically sneak up to a group of enemies and hits/runs in front of to get attention then weaves between cover this allowing squadmates to jump a distracted group of enemies) sniper heavy HMG duel role (ie. commando suit) heavy sniper AV forge av nader swarms logi medic spam lords (uplink specialist) hacker (unlike scout hacker they can fend themselves but data miners take up slots) intel (active scanner) assault grenadier (mass driver and/or remote explosive) frontline (assault rifle mortor experts (plasma cannon (i say we just give it its on place as a artillery weapon cause its better as artillery then AV)) assault assistant (primary isn't to kill but weaken enemies and i personally use a laser riffle so that it points to the enemies as well (i assume thi would be difficult for some people))
these are the all the ones i can think of at the moment but i will update this list as more roles are suggested. no mater how crazy ie. distraction scout.
Thank you. |

'distractor' is better termed an 'infiltrator'
hunter - scout with TAR / SCR who picks off stragglers and snipers
flanker - fast suit who specializes in attacking enemy flanks (has long-range, speed, possibly uplinks)
dedicated gunner - for small turrets
force recon support - min logi who runs with stealth squads
"logi" should be broken down into: Point Support (hives, links... "camp setup") / Heavy Support (core focused reps) / Frontline Support (core rep on 2x assaults) / Demolitions (RE, proxy, hives) / Combat Logi (focused on killing, hives, uplinks)
CQC Specialist / Security - shotgun/sidearm-specialized assaults/scouts
... i considered flanker as a variant of an infiltrator because they both sneak into groups of enemies from what i understand, but flanker has a more kill mindset. |

Drop a link , hack an poach until the cavliery arrives, then change locations I would term this "force recon"... ... for no other reason than it makes sense in my head. used both

Though I suspect when strafing is fixed it will become less viable to draw fire from a squad of proto by weaving back and forth around the thin end of a piece of cover.... thats what i like about you scouts.... paper thin but more ballsy. |

Also, sniping is not black or white. If you're not field-sniping it doesn't mean you're in the redline. I move A LOT while sniping, but I'm not coming down to the battle anyway. I will counter-snipe and take out assault infantry at the same time.
the sup categories were there for people who tend to have that certain or general type of play and don't really suit the popular or traditional role. So all in all, i wasn't saying these are the only snipers but these snipers tend to favor more of this type of sniping. So you would just be a sniper since you don't really snipe in close range of the enemy, don't solely snipe enemy snipers, and don't redline the whole match.
also many of these roles can be done by other suits its just that these roles tend to be more popular or better suited to these suit types.
sorry for making it seem black and white. It isn't. and also i would have to repeat many of these roles in many of the categories which just makes a lot more work and a lot more to read for those who are TL;DR (to lazy don't read i think). again I NEVER MEANT FOR THESE TO BE BLACK AND WHITE.
i'll add that this isn't a black and white thing to it. Thank You. |

Close range mother ******* sniper fit. This sounds more like a on field/ combat sniper to me. |
