like many others, i do wish for a respec. now stop, i already know one probably wont come, so you dont have to keep yelling NO MORE RESPECS. i get it, but why all the hate on them. if you skill into something, then they nerf it to oblivion, then you should get your skill points back for that category. that's like buying a 1080p HD TV then after you install it, someone comes in, and replaces it with a 720p HD TV. IT'S NOT WHAT YOU PAID FOR, BUT YOU GET NO REFUND. you see what i'm saying? now this isn't to start up another QQ thread, just a thread to get some insight on why you don't want another respec. is it because people will spec into FoTM? that's going to happen regardless. what about the many of us who have no intention of doing such things?
i personally want a respec so i can base my rentire fit around nova knives, which will take at the very least another 2-3 months for me now. Nova Knives are not OP, i can promise you that. also, no i didn't go callogi or any crap like that. i put my skills all over the place, and went proto in scrambler rifles the core flaylock, but i stopped using the flaylock once i saw how OP it was. now i have like 3 million sp into stuff i never use.
i'm just saying try to look it from a different perspective, before hating on those who aren't happy where they are now. yes you will have FoTM, but in the end this game is about having fun, and the minute that stops, people are going to walk away, and they have nothing to stop them, since it's FREE.
as i said i already know no more respecs(as of yet) but when you see another respec thread, just please don't be so harsh to everyone who wants a respec, because at the very least, it could spice up the game and bring more people back in. kind of like a second( or third lol) chance to start over. |

Zahle Undt wrote:Because when people do things like spec into LAV to drive around the battlefield and run people over or a logistics suit to use as an assault suit they deserve to live with that decision when the nerf hammer crashes down on them. Pick your skills based off of more than what is powerful at the moment or FotM and you won't have to worry so much about respecs or nerfs.
If you want a respec for the purposes of playing something different then spend the time and SP to skill into something else. A standard lvl suit of any type is about 1 to 2 weeks worth of SP only. i already have that, and i can use every weapon in the game right now, but i want the respec to base my ENTIRE main fit around nova knives, which will definitely take more than 1 or 2 weeks |

There is a small minority of players within the Eve Online community that still want a respec system for Eve, but CCP and the rest of the community largely ignores them. And considering that the Council of Stellar Management now has stakeholder power in CCP and is entirely player-elected, all of the elected council members were voted in by players who are mostly against respecs within their game.
Of course, Dust 514 already has it own Council of Planetary Management to act as its voice, but it is largely picked by CCP as a preliminary council whose task is to help CCP figure out how to setup a proper voting system so that in the future YOU can vote for whoever you like to represent you and your pro-respec interests. But be aware that the anti-respec crowd will be doing the same. you're right, and what it seems like, i their is alot of people who have built up anger against people who went FoTM |

CLONE117 wrote:we hate respecs because we r sick of proto bears specing into op crap then it gets nerfed and then they beg for another stupid respec so they can spec into the next op prototype item on the list... i agree with this, because believe me, i've had my fair share of being protostomped...if only there was some way around this... |

Aero Yassavi wrote:I'll be honest, the only reason I personally want a respec is because I'm currently spec'd into Amarr infantry while I would prefer to be spec'd into Amarr vehicles, but I'm not going to sit on my SP and use militia fits for who knows how long just because of that. Though I do believe this is a valid argument for everyone. I understand the FOTM argument, but if we simply wait and do one single respec once the remaining dropsuits and vehicles are out I don't see how you can argue against it. excellent idea, the only problem is getting others to think the same way. |

They just went with what is commonly seen as overpowered when they should have used common sense and pick a profession that best suits them in the long run. For example, take a look at the tank and dropship drivers. They are currently getting **** on by all the AV folks here. But come 1.5 those guys who stuck around and braved the insults will get the last laugh. Watch. yup, and i can't wait to start flying my incubus again! |

ZDub 303 wrote:There have been a lot of good ideas on implementing a limited SP refund system. CCP has acknowledged the feedback and said they are discussing whether they will implement a system like it.
look up the 'skillback booster' post. There are ways that we can implement respecs so that they add to everyone's gameplay enjoyment. cool, but wait, if you activate a refund booster, you will still get passive sp gain right? because if not, i might be wrong, but there isn't a point in getting a refund booster. unless the sp refunddaily is drastically higher than the passive sp gain is. |
