ItGÇÖs a simple question.
IGÇÖm not satisfied, are you? If you are please tell me why, and if you are not, please let me know as well. IGÇÖm definitely not trolling here, out of curiosity; I would like to see the beliefs of the community. I would like to know if IGÇÖm the only one who is not satisfied from the active community part. My friends are not satisfied as well, all of them, but I donGÇÖt count them as GÇ£active communityGÇ¥, they have never visit the forums, they have no intention/time for forums.
My reasons: I hope there is more, that CCP only show us one half of the patch. They were talking about a patch that will dramatically improve the game, a patch that has some new content from the "new development" cycle. All I can see are balanced stuff, a little new level stuff, and: please-PLEAAAAASE-log-in-to-the-game,-we-will-give-you-SP-!!!!
But where are the things that should have been there right from the start? Like all heavy and light suits? Where is the PVE? Where are the weapons, vehicles? I can't see new and interesting content. A new level variation doesnGÇÖt count as new content or at least not only.
I acknowledge the balancing attempts from CCP, but we are in 1.4 soon and ask yourself how much new content have you seen from a unfinished game since1.0?
My ugly truth: I would rather play an interesting and buggy game then a full balanced uninteresting and boring game. The truth is that I can overlook bugs and imbalance if other things shine more, things like content, real, and new content. Give me stuff to do, give me diversity, give me PVE, and give me something of GÇ£I-donGÇÖt-have-the-time-for-forums-complain-because-there-is-stuff-do-toGÇ¥.

I'll wait until we actually get to experience it before I decide whether or not I'm satisfied with it. However I'm satisfied with the intent of the the update. Unlike you, I'd rather they fix what we have now than get new stuff that might further break things or might be broken because of what is already broken. Honestly maybe I calloused but I've learned not to expect anything meaningful from these monthly updates.
I mean I am interested to see how the Armor plate changes work out but realistically the HP buff is minuscule in the face of explosive weaponry, like mere milliseconds minuscule. Also I guess heavy frame rotation speeds could be good, and the LAV impact damage changes could be nice.
But all together will it be enough to bring me back to a state where I'm buying boosters and capping every week? Highly unlikely, I honestly have more fun trolling and matching wit's with people on the forums. I guess I've lost my passion to actually play Dust, but I still have hope for it and would love to see it succeed.

I understand your point of view. But donGÇÖt forget one thing: It would be easier to balance for example weapons if all weapons where actually there rather than other placeholder try to fulfill the role/function of not implemented weapons.

When they announced 1.4 as the infantry patch I was expecting more focus on this aspect. (vision, maps and menu systems are universal). That said, as a scout lover the updates appear to really help us fulfil our niche. So I can hide better than I already do. My heavy alt Caca Forte will see improvements I didn't really see it needed. Still, 'don't look a gift horse in the mouth' I guess, so I'll reserve judgement till its implemented. (his suit is still at the tailors being altered though ) As a regular player I like the daily rewards idea. Some low level skills I've been ignoring for higher ones will get some needed attention. Also my alts will progress a little easier. Poor Majik has been stuck on basic equipment for a while now.
I can't deny though that we desperately needed the new maps. No matter how much of a fan of the game you are, you can't ignore that the regular gameplay was getting stale.
And who knows? I have a feeling there may be more to this patch. It is a biggie |

Better late than never. A step forward it definitely is. I just feel that itGÇÖs to small step.
Well... aim mechanics fixes, new map environments = ( More game-play variety ) some of the new installations looks like very fun maps, no more murder taxis, armor fixes to compensate for explosive damage, a more clean and polish Battle Deployment with "clear" contracts, Daily bonuses, Taxation....
It is a bit more than just a "Small Steep", but is not a HUGE steep.. is just a "Steep", full stop. |

Like I said, an 'infantry' patch that only addresses some turning and a little polish to armour plates? There might be more that CCP won't tell us. Also if you look at the Aur bundles they added in recent weeks there is 'Assault 'and 'Logi' bundles but no 'Heavy' or 'Scout' one - and I'd find it hard to believe this is down to lack of content because they have a bundle with just a pistol in it.

I would agree on a "Steep" if all the things they implement are bug free, but there will be some, so it's a small minus to this step ;).
For example lets bet that ccp didnGÇÖt do the matchmaking very well. I bet that if you are in a squad full of random how have joined you over the time of a couple matches, that the system will kick you in "squad only games", like full corp squads. Squad is squad right? right? Och! And I bet that if you have random noobs in your squad, the system still is taking you as a serious squad and put you against other corp squads.

No to stray of topic but about that daily bonus. Can I simply login to get it or do I actually have to play a match? May not be worth it if I do lol.
Oh and to those thinking the new armor numbers will greatly enhance survivability.. How ? The reduction to movement penalties is nice but 20hp more on a complex plate is negligible in the face of 6M+ blast radius explosives with 130% efficacy to armor. Hell even against a proto AR that's half a bullet. |

They remade the whole matchmaking. FW will now be a viable option. And you aren't satisfied? Give them time. You can't expect something like PvE with a patch that is just a number. I guess PvE will be released with the next installment. And new maps and sockets? **** yeah. That's new content you can expect in a patch with a number. I am honestly surprised how much that patch includes.
You just expect too much. It's not that CCP doesn't deliver, you expect more than what is possible. Of course they promised a lot before the release. But it's not in yet and it wont suddenly appear because they made a 1.4. New dropsuits may come. But they just recently released the Commando. This time it's new maps (what I think is more important). 1.5 will be the vehicle patch. Maybe we will see the pilot suits then. |

If aiming is being fixed how will that make weapons with splash damage less effective for people who can Aim? I'm honestly thoroughly confused by that statement..Maybe it's just my interpretation but doesn't AOE damage require less precision?
Also I wouldn't be so sure it was bad aiming mechanics that let you down in the face of a mass driver...I mean you have noticed that they shake your screen and the smoke blurs your vision right? |

This is a more than decent patch with plenty of foundations being set. Matchmaking, aim fixes, narrowing the proficiency of SLs, excellent visual upgrades, armor balancing, corp tools.... |

Is all about reaction time + Aim accuracy ....MD's at the moment relive on people taking to long to react and fine tune their aim, 100's / 200's of a second can make a huge difference in 1v1 fight. When i can aim properly again, most MD users going to have not chance against me. |

- Murder LAVs less effective
- Aiming fixed
- LR red dot sight
- Armour plates balances
- Matchmaking fixed
- FW battle queue
- More hit detection improvements
If those changes are really fixing the problems they try to fix, then this is an absolutely solid update. Sure, it is mostly fixes and rebalancing, but with all those fixes out of the way we will now see more content coming in the following updates, starting with new weapons in 1.5.
And people tend to forget that we will get a completely new battleterrain with 3(?) new maps on it + a new outpost for all maps. This might not sound like much, but considering the fact that all those maps will use different outpost configurations every time will probably fresh up playing the game quite a bit, at least until we get new content in like 5 or 6 weeks from now. |

KB/M Armor tanked logi swarm user here ... I'm satisfied, if a little surprised (swarm changes weren't really needed till 1.5, but the ammo skill changes are across other weapons so that bits understandable, I guess they just decided to make all those skill changes at once so its done with, then they can see how proto vehicles need to fit in properly with all the AV pieces they want in place).
They didn't need to add any new maps or sockets, this wasn't billed as a new content patch, so that's just a bonus nobody can complain about.
Adjustments to vehicle/infantry collision damage - again nobody not abusing murder taxis can't complain about that.
Timestamps in chat, corporation taxation, active scanner usefulness, deployable equipment improvements, matchmaking, vehicles draw distance (reducing/removing invisible swarm QQ)
The only thing I've got to complain about is the ungratefull whining on the forums from children who "want it now Mummy". |

Well I'm already staying away from Dust for the duration of the latest event so it's hard to get exited about anything. Honestly, for me it's not the patch content that bothers me so much as the fact that unless we see a move towards better community involvement in the decisions being made then there is literally no point in anything they're doing here.
Most of what we're getting here are fixes to avoidable mistakes. They're necessary but the way we ended up here was not.
Btw, all short cycle releases were described as content patches. They do in fact need to deliver new content if they wish to live up to the promises they've made. |
