It's a rare day when I go over 2 million ISK, that's what I get for running solo and staying out of PC :p
I basically never ever ever use my proto gear, it's just there to look pretty (aside from my Ishukone forge), it's basically all advanced gear for me.
Who else wishes they could sit on their Merc Quarters couch to look for extra change? |

I usually sit around 50 million ISK but nowadays I keep flinging ISK into matches and now I'm down to around 47 mill or 48 mill. |

140M+ and 50M+ between my characters. Unless I get ticked off I make a 1M+ ISK every day I play either of them.
Although when practicing tanks or trying new armor/repair/hardener/turret combinations running solo I tend to lose enough tanks to soak up any profits. If I stick to the tank that works best for me then 1-2M ISK per day in Profit. Which won't stop me from trying something new.
For the rest of the time I run Standard to Advanced as I have yet to find a Proto that is worth the SP. I have too many 400K+ Skills to back fill first. |

Anyone who didn't get the early respecs is in a pretty tough place. Having all that gear turned into isk was great indeed. My vehicle alt hover around just under 2 million. But I to lone wolf so it comes with the territory. |

I'm always broke. I rarely ever play, and when I do, I'm flying dropships for my corpmates. If I lose 1 dropship every 4-5 matches I'm in the red.
Really, the only thing is this game I find enjoyable is flying. Infantry gameplay is terribly balanced and boring as hell, so trying to earn money without flying is a terrible drag. |

30 million, time to burn some good suits and kick a few into the Corporation account, to be used by less profitable characters.
20 million, time for [STARTER FIT]s and sniping.

I rarely run my proto suit. ADV is just fine for the pub and fw stuff. It keeps me in line equipment wise with everyone. Running 30-35k suits is quite profitable over time if you're running with a squad.
I give a lot of my profits away to new players and tankers though. |

Dust teaches you to be selfish.
Sitting at a quarter billion isk, with 230 million being my personal "zero balance".
Making money in this game is easy, you just gotta pick your battles and pick your suits.
If I'm solo and facing a stacked team, I take a look at my own team:
- If the team looks pretty strong, I'll stay and fight and maybe spend some money to support them because it'll be fun. I'll put the occasional protosuit out there.
- If the team looks like it's going to suck because it's comprised of fresh out of the Academy noobs, I'll probably just leave before the fight begins so as not to waste my time, nor even a 20k isk suit. I don't use free suits, I'm actually starting to care about my KDR somewhat.
- If the team starts off strong, but for whatever reason things get super bad mid-fight, and we CAN'T recover I'll afk in the redzone or MCC. Sure it's more considerate to just leave, but I'd rather stay the full amount of time, and maybe snipe a protosuit or two to try and recover some of my costs.
- Finally, you can ring in PC. Play proto to your heart's content, and provided you don't get molly-whopped, you'll walk away with consistently high returns.
In the end, if you're running solo and you want to make money, you need to think prudently, and don't waste your resources fighting for sorry teams over some sense of misplaced gamer sportsmanship. If you do that, Dust will penalize you for participation.

Solo player with 30 mil here. Primarily laser rifleman. I run with some seriously low grade stuff. I used to run tanks, but ah... well, I can never get rid of my railgun, and my tank, my Lady, she... she is always the kind to run headlong into the fight. It was rather unprofitable.
I am always profitable, now. That 30 mil is only growing. If rather slowly. The laser rifle isn't really the best for going 30-6 and otherwise wrecking fools. |

150 million on each of the two characters i play (or played...i am waiting for matchmaking and invisibility exploit fix)
My third character which i never play has i think about 16 million.
...
My suggestion is to stop dying and run in more militia/standard gear. |

My average account balance us around 200k ISK, I'm constantly running low on fits, I rarely have more than 1 of each vehicle fits, and nearly all of the modules are shared across the majority of the fits, if I deploy or lose a vehicle I have to restock nodules before i can call in another. I rarely have more than 10 of any infantry fit either and I've had to restock in fits mid battle more than once. ISK rarely stays in my account for more than 2 matches after it was earnt before it's spent, barring the liquidation period after uprising my entire dust career has been spent running out of everything. |

I've been doing some grinding this last week, got to three of all my proto fittings. Got about 20k in the wallet atm. Yes, twenty. My next goal is to grind up to five of each.

you need to learn how to run on a budget
run your proto/advanced fits when your with your corpmates
run your 40k+ fits on wed til you cap then run free-10k fits til next wed
if you run a proto suit at beginning of a match and die run free suits till next match so you profit still
