CCP, Why should we wait for your game to be "finished" over the next few years? What incentive is there to wait for a game to be completed when we already have many -and many more to come- finished working products to choose from? Isn't feasible that by completion time, larger developers with more resources will have already eclipsed your vision and capabilities?
I would very much like to know the answer to why I should wait around for DUST 514? Why I should put up with it not working on remote playable level with any kind of majority consistency?
Why?
1.4 is not going to solve anything, and the hundreds of updates will not solve the general problems that have been birthed by this project mismanagement. I can only assume that 1.4 will only add to the broken mechanics of the game, seeing is how the game cannot function on a consistent level of playablity the way it is now. I fear that better titles are available to me, and I really do predict that 1.4 will just result in an uninstall from my system.
I really am losing all incentive to play this game. Basically, it's driven by a grind to obtain SP and build a character that doesn't function in a malfunctioning game.
Why? Why are we waiting for you? Why can't we just come back a few years down the road when the game is finished? Why should we be strung along on this rocky road with you? |

There is no incentive to play this game. Its just a broken game, that won't last past its competition. EVE took 10 years, but really compare the gaming industry from 10 years ago to now.
There is no incentive to win matches, go for high K/D, win ISK (which grows on trees), or to be a better player. Its broken mechanics are sickening. CCP can't even get the basics right. You can't play DUST and have the same experience every time or even half the time, because its just one broken mechanic or player exploit after another.
Can this game be completed over night? No, but it will certainly be beyond 10 years in the making (remember, CCP has actually been working on DUST for 4 years and its WAAAAAY behind schedule) Just like how EVE players got strung along, and left the game. DUST players will follow.
If EVE is so good, then why doesn't it get played by a bunch of people? How can a game that is so perfect only have a few 1000 players on it? Because: good, or bad, CCP struck out with its playerbase and they got sick and tired of being lied to and strung along with propaganda.
The AURUM system in this game makes it more expensive than any AAA title on the market right now. So its not worth the time. I'm a good shooter player, I'm a good DUST player, but I see no reason to continue the game.
You want my stuff, my ISK, my whatever? Take it, it won't advance you in any way (especially over the long term) you'll eventually burn through it.
Without comparing DUST to other games; on its own, it's not worth playing. I know some players refuse to go back to being a mediocre fish in a large pond, and that's why they stay on DUST. Its also built to addict you to the grind, which also helps with AURUM sales. |
