What if infantry could use small turrets on the ground? Could take up a light weapon slot. Could only be used after being planted on the ground. You can't move while using it. Just a little idea.

assuming we have the unlimited ammo and all... for it.. Yep, unlimited ammo just like all small turrets. You just can't move, that's the balancing factor. |

CLONE117 wrote:the breach fg sucks because we cant move but the small turrets.. i think i heavy should be able to move with them while firing.. that would be fair... Naw that would be OP, it would just be an HMG for non heavies. Bad idea |

I was thinking that it would either be slow to turn iChat it would only be able to turn 160 degrees from the direction you were facing when you planted it. May the forum trolls have mercy! I seem to be noticing an idea that eventually CCP is wanting to have the supply depots, railguns, cloning thingies, etc available for deployment by the character. Calling it down as tactical strike in a way. That's in part of what you mean I think. But on the other hand the question is what to do in small corridors, like securing hallways inside a facility? I think a smaller would be entirely appropriate and fun. I imagine in the end that only decently sized corps will be available to deploy a railgun, so this would kind of be the working man's turret. Something small and automated, good support at a decent cost. As for those who might say that the damage is negligible, I would say keep in mind the turrets in TF2. I love playing as engies, LOVE IT, and while a turret may not do as much damage as a player's weapons it is usually able to more than make up for it in ACCURACY. Low damage at near 100% accuracy is almost always better than high damage with little accuracy. And again, remember it's a supplement.

I wold like to see a heavy ( They weigh more then heavy weapons, yet you want them in a light weapon slot -_-) version, but only as a deployable. And has limited ammo, because vehicles has built in nanohives. I don't see why it would be so hard to install a nano hive into a turret.
Any ways, it would be pretty CPU/PG intensive anyways. I'm thinking at least 100 CPU just for the Standard version |
