It would be glorius, provided the pilot gets an assist for every passenger kill, alternatively an MD turret would be simply awesome for an aerial assault. |

logistic dropship with 2 cyclic missiles, max tank and 4 assault massdrivers= epic trololol. Cant wait for that. dowsnide is that you still need to land here and there to let your guys restock ammo. maybe switch 1 massdriver user for a swarm launcher for allround AV capability. |

That would be win. Just watch out for the proto forguns and proto swarms. this would be cool.
I also, doubt it would be spammed too hard because enemies could use the installations, to take them down, inaddition to AV, and in objective game play having 7 poeple of your 16 flying around won't help you take objectives....lol.
in fact this can help solve redlining because dropships can drop off* more troops to key locations. leading to a more dynamic battle front.

I could see it, but I think we need to have the Door button working (Square) and we also need the ability to stand up and crouch inside the dropship, or make it so when the doors are up our characters crouch and are unable to fire, but we're able to open the doors, they stand up and are now able to fire their weapons.

It will be) Not really... it can be a high mobility font of firepower but it's made of glass. There are multiple methods of dealing with it.
Only thing is perhaps restricting the use of Swarm Launchers from within it. Would become an incredible powerful anti-vehicular missileboat with a 400m range, able to negate pretty much all cover and operate outside of anyone's reach but other dropships... which it can take down if they try to approach. |

well, the button does seem to work... but even if it closes slowly, its no biggy, even less reason for people to scream op.
they should still be able to shoot in the drop ship but because friendly fire is OFF for pubs no damage would be done.

well, now that would be a real reason to shoot down dropships instead of just the free points.
when a dropship is in the Air even starts trying o take it down anyway, with this there will be a real reason to shoot it down |

Doesn't work, I've tried it many times :( Also, my suggestion wasn't because of Friendly Fire, but it needs balance, If you're going to allow Infantry such an effective way from killing from a vehicle, you need a drawback, so they need to be fully exposed when they're firing from this position.
(Picture it, a Forge Gunner firing through the doors, or Mass Drivers doing more damage to people than missiles and yet are better concealed than the damn turrets)
This allows a counter without needing AV to destroy the Dropship, so when they do get balanced nobody can cry how OP it is because you can just Tac AR them out of the damn thing ^_^
Also, as another incentive, Two Dropships with a full squad of AR players in their ships, come in close and begin firing at one another.. (With the added Crouching function) would be fun :D

Also, they are exposed and when forguns hit my dropship my passengers die out. snipers hit my passengers out, and swarms if they hit the blunt side of my ship kill passengers.
all in all the dropship is made of glass and needs some fire power to justify its pitiful state. |

How close were you to the ground? ;)
For the Forge, extremely lucky shots, I've done it to LAVs and Dropships with both Forge and Rail, and I've just looked at my hands and realized I am God. The people that snipe your guys are pretty damn good snipers, but they need to be counterable if Dropships get a buff in 1.5 and then have passengers with the ability to fire out the side of the ship.

Gave it a quick think, and the most logical drawback to balance things out is an accuracy penalty, turrets get the benefit of being accurate due to various stabilisers etc and being built into the vehicle, handheld weapons don't get that advantage. An accuracy penalty like this would force pilots to fly lower and slower to make passengers accuracy better, thus making them more vulnerable to AV. ideally we would see the size of the penalty change with the speed of the dropship, no idea if that would be technically possible though. |

Another downside is that it's not easy to restock ammunition, that could be particularly tricky for mass drivers. What do you do, once you have emptied your clip? Kill yourself and respawn in the MCU I guess. Whether this is enough to ensure balance I don't know, just something to consider.

we dont need an accuracy penalty because we already have to deal with it...lol
trying to position dropships so as to take advantage of the turrets is difficult. the LOS of the turrets is rough too. if the weapons infantry carry on drop hips get the same LOS limitations as a turret then accuracy nerf wont be nessesary.
even if they were 100% accurate you would still be able to take them out with AV.
imagine an AV nade hitting the side of the dropship where my gunners are....lol instant kills any suit. period...lol |
