With the new anti-AFK measures, you're forcing us to either play or go home now. Problem is that I don't want to spend close to ten hours playing to cap out every week, which turns into thirty hours between me and my alts. That's close to a full time jobs worth of time I have to put in.
Keep the soft cap at 1k, but let us gain our 190k bonus faster. Post here with your support / opposition to this idea.
Or, y'know, you could put in that rollover system that you let us vote for. |

Fine, I'll concede that capping every week isn't a requirement.
I would still like to see a rollover SP system implemented, though. CCP let us vote on this back in January, it was "in the works" for a long time, then recently we heard that there are no plans to put it in. I'd like to know what happened to the idea they put out to the community. |

Make people actually want to play instead of forcing them to. Give the players content that would make them excited about jumping out of the MCC.
I'd also like to throw out there that the players are smarter than the devs. Regardless of the system that is implemented, the players will find exploits. If it's a fun game, less people will be driven to find these exploits and instead will play the game. |

I have edited the OP to reflect on my change of heart on the cap issue.

I understand your issue, RL intervenes and we can't all hit the cap every week (I gave up on my alts) however, if you had the time to start a match to AFK in, then surely you have the time to play it? since you only have to return in 15-30 mins anyway to set up another match However I do strongly agree to the roll over system, it means that people who work alot who finally get X days of rest can play dust alot if they choose to and not worry about eventually only being able to earn 1000 sp/game Fair enough. I also run two Eve subscriptions while Dust is going in the back. Maybe I could just fire up my mining lasers during a match. |

I'd like to know what happened to the idea they put out to the community. how dare a game developer incentivize playing their game by giving you rewards for playing it! THE NERVE! seriously though, the bottom line is people who play more deserve more reward, remember its just a game, its not the most important thing in the world. if you don't have that kind of time to invest in a game, consider yourself lucky for having a real life... let us basement dwellers feel some sense of shallow accomplishment for our investment... I would argue about your use of the word "incentivize".
If they wanted to incentivize playing, they would make active SP accrue much faster than passive SP, rather than force you to play for your passive SP or get nothing at all. Please note, however, that I have already conceded to the fact that capping every week isn't a requirement, and have since abandoned that idea. |

They took away your AFK so your gonna cry because you have to play the game like the rest of us. Really? Tell us why you deserve things for free? You run your mouth a lot on the forums... So what. HTFU and play the game, I'll see you on the battle field where I have always been..... The problem is that they're addressing the issue the wrong way. The game should be made fun and enjoyable first and foremost, making people that would actually seek out this type of exploit few in number. |

I remember a post saying it was taking them forever - which is obvious - but I hadn't seen one about scrapping the idea. Could you post a quote here for us? I never have any luck with the damn search function. Linky |

Firstly, the daily reward system is a fairly nice addition to the game. This draws people in at least once a day, which might have them decide to stay on for a few matches, bolstering the numbers. I also much prefer this over a system that gives you some garbage item every day. Please don't try to assume you know my stance on everything.
Secondly, is there something wrong with me advocating for a more fun and immersive gaming experience? If you look at my posts, I'm trying to say that CCP should counter the current player apathy with fun. Bring the game to a state where jumping out of the MCC and romping through the sand is fun, instead of the fairly limited lobby shooter we have now. |

I know there's still passive SP, I just feel that the way they're going about this is wrong. I'd prefer a fun game that makes me want to play over what we have now.
I probably will end up dropping the game though. It's hard to run two Eve subs while playing Dust unless I'm mining, which isn't that great of an ISK-maker. |

Driving and firing a tank is a "PVP action". Show me a dev post that states otherwise. In the 1.4 patch notes thread, one of the devs said that they'll get back to us on what a "PvP action" is.
Although I do hope that it involves watching redline tanks disappearing mid-match. |

Please note, however, that I have already conceded to the fact that capping every week isn't a requirement, and have since abandoned that idea. how would this entice people to play more often? wouldn't this incentivize people to play less often, since they cap quicker? by your logic, having it take so long to accrue your sp for the week makes the game a grind that is not fun...correct me if im misunderstanding you. I do understand there is a demographic fitting this profile, however there is a healthy population of people who enjoy the game as well. what you describe is instant gratification....CCP doesn't make that kind of game. its not just about gaining sp and pub stomping if that's all your doing, then its understandable if you feel the game is grindy and unfun. you however don't just do that, your on the forms quite a bit, you either don't realize or have forgotten youre playing the game right now...aren't you having fun? What I'm trying to point out is that the way CCP is going about fixing the AFK issue isn't going to be the most effective route. They are treating the symptoms of a broken system and poor experience rather than address the issues.
After this patch goes through, there is nothing stopping people from finding the next exploit, aside from the time it would take to find them. The only way to actually make a significant dent in this practice is to bring the game to the point where the game is fun and immersive enough that fewer people will want to seek exploits.
The players are smarter than the developers. There is no questioning that. This patch may be "rubber band proof", but there are ways around it. People will search for these ways, then share them with others. We will be back to where we are now given enough time. |

People will search for these ways, then share them with others. We will be back to where we are now given enough time. just because someone is able to find a flaw in a program, doesn't make them smarter. both the programmer and the hacker are smart, and many can do each others job efficiently. that's like saying because ive killed you before in game im better than you...its ridiculous. in fact! finding exploits in games are what some people do for fun.... and more power to them! in the end their work makes games better. you expect perfection in a world where such a thing cannot exist outside the confines of our own minds... I as much as you have had issue with the way CCP handles a variety of things, but to expect others to be flawless when I cannot accomplish this myself would be setting myself up to be let down by everyone and everything. all we can expect from CCP is to handle problems when they occur...if you cant accept that then perhaps you've simply out grown this game, or need a break.... I am not expecting perfection. What I'm advocating for are patches that contain content and fixes that make the game fun enough to the point that the number of people that search for exploits and that actually use them drop.
I'm asking that CCP make the game fun so people won't want to AFK. I realize that not every solution is perfect, and there will always be those that will seek to exploit the game in any way, but by focusing on making the game fun, we may have less people exploit hunting and more people willfully playing. |
