Keep the soft cap at 1k, but let us gain our 190k bonus faster. Post here with your support / opposition to this idea.
Or, y'know, you could put in that rollover system that you let us vote for.
EDIT: I will concede to the point that capping every week is not a requirement.
I would still like to see a rollover SP system implemented, though. CCP let us vote on this back in January, it was "in the works" for a long time, then recently we heard that there are no plans to put it in. I'd like to know what happened to the idea they put out to the community.
how dare a game developer incentivize playing their game by giving you rewards for playing it!
THE NERVE!
seriously though, the bottom line is people who play more deserve more reward, remember its just a game, its not the most important thing in the world.
if you don't have that kind of time to invest in a game, consider yourself lucky for having a real life...
let us basement dwellers feel some sense of shallow accomplishment for our investment... |

I would argue about your use of the word "incentivize". If they wanted to incentivize playing, they would make active SP accrue much faster than passive SP, rather than force you to play for your passive SP or get nothing at all. Please note, however, that I have already conceded to the fact that capping every week isn't a requirement, and have since abandoned that idea.
how would this entice people to play more often?
wouldn't this incentivize people to play less often, since they cap quicker?
by your logic, having it take so long to accrue your sp for the week makes the game a grind that is not fun...correct me if im misunderstanding you. I do understand there is a demographic fitting this profile, however there is a healthy population of people who enjoy the game as well.
what you describe is instant gratification....CCP doesn't make that kind of game. its not just about gaining sp and pub stomping if that's all your doing, then its understandable if you feel the game is grindy and unfun. you however don't just do that, your on the forms quite a bit, you either don't realize or have forgotten youre playing the game right now...aren't you having fun? |

The players are smarter than the developers. There is no questioning that. This patch may be "rubber band proof", but there are ways around it. People will search for these ways, then share them with others. We will be back to where we are now given enough time.
just because someone is able to find a flaw in a program, doesn't make them smarter. both the programmer and the hacker are smart, and many can do each others job efficiently. that's like saying because ive killed you before in game im better than you...its ridiculous.
in fact! finding exploits in games are what some people do for fun.... and more power to them! in the end their work makes games better.
you expect perfection in a world where such a thing cannot exist outside the confines of our own minds...
I as much as you have had issue with the way CCP handles a variety of things, but to expect others to be flawless when I cannot accomplish this myself would be setting myself up to be let down by everyone and everything.
all we can expect from CCP is to handle problems when they occur...if you cant accept that then perhaps you've simply out grown this game, or need a break.... |

I am not expecting perfection. What I'm advocating for are patches that contain content and fixes that make the game fun enough to the point that the number of people that search for exploits and that actually use them drop. I'm asking that CCP make the game fun so people won't want to AFK, rather than force them out of AFK. Use the carrot instead of the stick.. I realize that not every solution is perfect, and there will always be those that will seek to exploit the game in any way, but by focusing on making the game fun, we may have less people exploit hunting and more people willfully playing.
your missing my point... IT IS FUN... for some of us... finding exploits IS FUN... for some of us... afking however is NOT FUN for anyone. most of all the afker, but for the people who have to play with a handicap because some douche is camping the MCC.
the fact is they are using a carrot, but apparently you prefer some other vegetable. personally my carrot tastes pretty good, could use a bit more salt but hey I accept the recipe is still evolving... |
