When I run into well known players from big well known Corps, running solo, I notice they SUCK! How can you go 30/0 with your corp, but 2/6 in a pub solo?
DUST is team based, that's the beauty of it, but you should still be able to play the game good overall regardless of being in a squad or not. A good player does good overall, on consistent basis, while all the factors that aide or negate him change.
I've seen this countless times. I really do find that the playerbase itself lacks actual skill, its almost funny. DUST has turned into he island of misfit toys. (Cod and BF3 washouts mostly)
This was evident back in one of the Beta's. I was always running into the great squads because the playerbase was so small. It would not be uncommon to face TeamPlayers(Back then only 10 members or so strong) every single match you joined, and when they faced a decent opposing team, they'd get STOMPED. I would be on the mic with them trying to do call outs and work as a team, and use my FPS knowledge in order to secure the win, but it was hopeless, they would drop like fies... they'd just complain about the game itself. Basically anyone not running a starter fit was just a an assh*le.
It's becoming more evident, even in PC, that its just picking on noobs in DUST that defines someone's greatness. On a side note, TP got A LOT better at working as a team since then, obviously.
So when you're riding solo, or with a squad, thank them. Because the only reason you do well is because of them. I don't care how good you are, DUST is built to destroy you if you can't hold you're own as a team. You'll just keep dying as the game spawns hordes of enemies on top of you, or you get separated from your backup and get swarmed by 10 enemies at once. |

They play better together because someone is always watching their back and vice versa. Running solo you don't have someone watching out for you. |

I enjoy my Rambo expeditions but it's nothing like a well synchronized team. It's just beautiful. I wish I could step back and watch it as a spectator. |

I can take on 2 sometimes, but 3+ is too much for me without REs in a strategic location. Doesn't matter how good you you are, you will die to a squad blueberries shooting ARs at you.
I lol when that does happen though. The RE takes out the teammates and then he runs like hell. |

When running solo as a heavy (granted not a good one) I usually push forward expecting the blue dots to move up with me.
It rarely happens. And I know it rarely happens and I end up dying more often because it doesn't happen but I keep doing it. Like an addict. I just can't help myself. Because every once in a while it works. I push the enemy back or drop them by myself. And it feels awesome. So I keep going back for more... |

yup i agree. But what this proves is:
Teamwork > Good solo player
Im a decent solo player at 2.55 K-D ratio. Scout + Commando, and i will still get owned by mediocre players playing as a team.
this aint a bad thing at all.....
At the same time proves that K-D ratio is worthless as a stat. Its obvious that a Sniper, Good tanker, proto players playing in a squad in Pub matches are gonna have a high K-D ratio. But its situational, doesnt mean that 1 v 1 the'll wreck you with a 5+ K-D ratio, means they re in favorable situations more often.... |

Oh yeah Heavies are RE bait, poor guys. Even if they do see them by the time they dispose of them the person they was pursuing are long gone, and a Heavy has no hope in keeping up. |
