Guess what: I have legitimate reasons collected over MONTHs for not liking Planetside 2, and I've already described them at length.

What I have consistently countered on these forums is this stupid trend of "LOL DUST IS DEAD WHO'S MOVING TO THIS GAME WITH ME?" threads that are the same damn thing every single time.

Planetside 2 is...Pretty pathetic too, and that's not the first game I'd move on to. Besides, you haven't successfully countered anything, only labeled yourself as a fanboy. The label appears to be accurate too, based on the level of rage you have for seemingly every other game in existence.

Someone please help me to understand why dividing your attention between more than one game is apparently on par with Adultery.

I think this mainly applies to MMORPGs, because they take so much of your time and force you to play as much as possible (typically through mechanics which force players to grind all day). If you play more than one at the same time it starts to get hectic how you'll subdivide your time between them.

Generally though, console games don't require that dedicated input of time to get maximum benefit out of it. There's no 'sense of progress' which scales off how many hours you've put into the game.

So game monogamy on MMORPGs, I can understand. Everything else doesn't really matter.

My RL buddy only plays CoD. And is pretty much basing his next gen console purchase on CoD.

He did go on a try every FPS binge and he did play WoW for a year or two.

It seems weird to me but whatever. I have been contemplating building my own PC simply cuz i want to try Cube World so i have no moral high ground.

One thing that is true is that there are only so many days in the week and only so many hours in a day. These MMOs are getting kind of time consuming and one does not have to think that hard to see how Dust is designed to require long hours to even get up in skill points...very discouraging to causal players. EvE is the same way. One might expect strict game monogamists to be common among EvE and Dust players.

Luckily Elite and Star Citizen have no XP system....so i will feel just fine trying them both out. And it will be a breath of fresh air to have a community around those games who have not had game monogamy beat into them by the very design of the game....I really hope EvE-VR does not have an XP system so i can try it and put it into the list of games i can play without feeling obligated.

So, the fact that I've made several posts about how pysched I am for Ace Combat Infinity obviously doesn't factor into this discussion at all.

I play other games, and I like other games, and I'm even looking forward to other games that are coming soon.

My beef with War Thunder is that it seems like no one ever makes games for modern aircraft besides Project Aces, and I still keep meeting people who've never even heard of Ace Combat.

I just don't get this obsession with World War II, and why other games seem to get swept under the rug in favor of WWII games.

Have you made posts like that? Really? Because I'm fairly certain I could simply say "I like SWTOR/Skyrim/Mario etc." And you'd jump on my case about how they're NOT Dust so they don't have...Whatever it is DUST has that other shooters don't (What is that by the way?)

Just saying: I used to, because I was fairly invested in this game.

I may come back from time to time in the future to check out the new updates, but if I played as casually as you say you do, I would never... ever pay real money for anything in this game.

So the people who say they are leaving, are essentially saying they are no longer financially supporting this game.

Curious how long eve would fund this game if no one bought aurum anymore...?

Given what we've already figured over the years for EVE income, they could fund the small team making this game off of EVE for quite some time, and obviously were already doing so for several years.

If they had any worries about funding, they wouldn't be launching into Valkyrie.

Note: I am not saying EvE-VR is a waste of money that CCP can't afford. Hell i think EvE-VR is a child born from a passion of a few Devs who knew what they wanted.....rather then a pile of community/committee driven crap Dust is. And as such actually has a chance at being a good game. Just pointing out that CCP is not made of money and the Devs are probably very aware CCP is not made of money. The Dust devs arrogance i think comes from their complete lack of talent and because of that lack of talent are unable to properly judge how talentless they are.
