So, I come back after 3 1/2 months and the game is still more or less on the same page as it was when I left. I left for many reasons that are still very present, even now, even when the whole community is poking them in the forehead and saying "Fix it" but they still seem to think they know what they're doing in the FPS genre when this is their first time dabbling in it from what i've heard.
I also notice that CCP still likes to mouth off to their customer base, and stil lack any real professionalism when dealing with their community. Which is a heavy handed mistake, considering how well things ARN'T looking for even your flagship game. These kinds of things are going to screw you over, and if you don't believe me, just look at the other people who have been posting these same things.
EVE has about a populationb height of 50k at peak operating hours, that's pretty minimal, very low in fact. COD has over 500k and battlefield matches that trend as well. Dust has what maybe 10k? It would seem to me you'd fix atleast some of the issues and work on customer relations and stop being so cocky about a product that is only doing well because you have a small fanboy fan base.
With Destiny being released here soon, you may not vanish, but I can soley guarantee, you will dwindle bad. They've got their **** together, PR, Adverts, balanced PVP, story, hell they can just ride the fact that they're Bungie and take over half your population relatively quickly. I do certainly hope you find a way to compete with atleast that title.
This game could still possibly make it, to about EVEs population if you actually start listening to your customers and stop assuming you know what's best for your community. We play, when things are broken, and we can't use them, some of us come here give feedback, and you say "Deal with it, it's my game." Im not sure you completely understand how this works, but when your customers require a service and you deliver properly you get money, to you know...get bitches and cars and a house n ****, if there is no reason for us to buy your product then youre just pan handling, begging for money, and that's just pathetic considering all the opportunitys we've given you to get on your own feet. |

This game is very different then it was 3 1/2 months ago.
Also CCP are some of the coolest devs i've seen in games. They enforce the rules and such just like any other company would.
Call of duty has around 50,000-75,000 at a time and bf3 probably has less.
You gotta realise that the player bases are different. Mindless drones play cod. not so much in bf3 but still.
The main thing is, doom and gloom threads don't help the situation. CCP knows what's going on with their game. There not new to it. They may be new to the genre of FPS games but they've improved a lot. Were starting to see more communication, and faster and better updates. |

you were saying? as far as the developers, i have no issue with them, most have been normal although wang's metaphor was off base, but he is probably just having a bad day. yes the game is different, but in many ways it has become worse and that is not good.

Not all of us ask them to fix stuff. Some of us just fanboy it up, claiming that because it's free the quality it's at now is fine. Or bash other games that are a threat to DUST, which is funny, every game threatens DUST but NO game is threatened BY DUST. |

Dust would have more players if it was on PC and the Xbox as well

well that makes more sense. you can never tell with some of the delusional folks on here nick. i can see dust having about 5k a piece on each format. i can not see it doing much more than though as most fps players simply do not have patience especially on consoles.

And about the CCP Devs, they are some of the most "real" developers you'll find. Sure, they mouth off, but I'd MUCH rather a Dev who mouth's off than ones that spew out the company line, like Blizzard's Community Manager Corp-bots.
CCP's Devs will more often than not tell you how it is, where it is and where they'd like to go. Yes, they bite off more than they can chew often (and the community wastes no time in needlessly picking and parsing out their statements they then use to crucify the Dev team), but they are OPEN and HONEST with their communication.
I have seen FAR less "we think this [bs bs bs] is fine," or "we feel [bs bs bs] is good" than I have with other forum community managers and dev teams. They tell us what they feel, we (more than likely) complain that's not so, and they will sometimes go back and make some changes to appease the player base, because, after all, we are the ones playing the game. The important part is they are real about their game and how they want it developed.
It's up to us players to express our tired, our poor and our humbled masses' sentiments to them, so in the end, we all can enjoy the game that we love to play, because we have helped shape it--at least in part.
