Hello,
I have a few game mode ideas I'd like to share. If anyone else has any, please share too! New game modes is something we really need in DUST, I know there are some game modes currently being worked on, but I still want to provide a list of game modes I feel like we could use. In this topic I will also like to suggest new game mode variants.
Deathmatch
A gamemode where once you die, you're done for the match. Pretty straightforward and easy concept.
Foot Ambush
Ambush gamemode, except vehicles aren't involved. Can be a variant of the normal Ambush.
Free-For-All
Every mercenary for themselves. Could be quite interesting, whoever has the most kills before the timer ends wins. Or a variant/addition could be everyone has a certain amount of clones. A FFA mode on DUST could keep anyone on their toes, it'd also be a pretty battle to watch.
Retrieve
A sketchy idea for a capture-the-flag like game mode. Possibly both teams have broken null cannons, and the only way to fix them is to retrieve the repair parts in the middle, then you'll be able to hack your null cannon. The other team can hack the enemy null cannon and retrieve the parts and then hack their own. It doesn't have to be repair parts, maybe you're retrieving null cannon ammunition? Maybe strike coordinates? Just a sketchy idea I had in mind.
Occupy
The main objective is to hold a base. Whatever team holds it the longest before the timer ends, or gains a certain amount of points, wins. This may be similar to King of the Hill game modes. Can reward people WP for occupying the base every few seconds.
Bounty Hunt
Sketchy idea for a bounty hunting like game mode. This would be a FFA match where one person has a bounty. If killed you can get 100 WP, or any configurable amount, but if the one who has the bounty kills a player he/she will get 60 WP, or any configurable amount. Once the person who had the bounty dies, a new bounty will be activated after about a few seconds.
Overkill
Can be the solution to larger games. A simple skirmish match with more people. Adding more people to every match can be resource demanding I'm sure. So adding to one game mode, can be the solution.
Assassination
Just like Bounty Hunt, except everyone has different targets.
And now I would like to discuss game mode variables. These variables can be added to each game mode. For example, one Ambush mode gives 75 clones, while another gives 100. Or maybe the time is 20 minutes, instead of 10. Any variable to any game mode, can make things a little bit more interesting. It'll make each game even more unique than the last.
I also would like to suggest the additions of squad matches, where you can set up a match for your squad. This can be helpful for training purposes. |
