What stops us from making our own tutorials? Thanks to Zion Shad's brilliant post, it made me wonder, "Why can't we make our own audio descriptions or training tutorials?"
Have 10 minutes or so of NEED TO KNOW tracks. They would be some things that you 'play' while you are in the war barge. Other things could be while messing around with fittings. THey could be informative, explanatory, advertising corps, explaining basic strategies and fighting styles, introductory shooter techniques etc. I think this is something the community could do REALLY well together. |

I suggested something akin to this in the Feedback forums and it died immediately. D: My idea was to have player tutorials available in Dust itself.
That said, +1, sir. |

There are already hundreds of youtube videos that do this. Problem is sorting through them to find the '10 minutes of worthy advice' that is up to date to current build. |

I wish I had some tutorials that were up to date when I started. Each day more and more fresh meat is tossed with the protomercs. It's like throwing a civilian in the middle of a battleground in Iraq. A nice "Dust 514 for Dummies" book would have been great. |

Problem is two-fold:
1. CCP doesn't make good tutorials, and prefer the 'straight into the deep end' approach.
2. This is player-dependent: 1 type will play a new game, suck at it, and look up resources to see what they're doing wrong, look for help from other players and lookup their own resources. The second type will play a new game, suck at it, and give up, or complain/whine/***** about it.
In-game resources will only help the second type, while the first type will ALSO benefit from in-game tutorials.
Then again, do we really want those second types of players in here clogging up the forums with more whining? |

Just reviving this post with a bump. I have not seen anything come of it yet, but would like to work with players to make it happen
