however you still have not fixed pub stomping (and I really don't know how you can effectively do that) and this event gives pub stompers more incentive to stomp...but not to win rewards, they will get them regardless, but to grief other players trying to get them by continuing the stomp long after they get theirs just to deny others a fair shot.
I think if your going to run an event like this, a special pub match should be included that only allows for up to STD gear to be used that would not only eliminate proto stomping for an event but would also give events like this a raw skill "test your metal" kind of feel.
and im betting you still haven't put any kind of in game tracker for our progress, you all can obviously see how much of a challenge we have completed, doesn't it make sense to give us the same ability? sure figuring out 48% of 30 battles isn't hard and we can use the win/loss counter in our wallet to figure it out... but why make us jump through all those hoops? if youre going to run events where we must get so many of "x" or do "y' so many times, its only prudent to put a convenient way for us to track it in game.
Wow a game tracker, what a novel idea. I have been asking for this for some time. It only makes sense to let us know what stats they are seeing since on every event I have played their stats were wrong and they have had to "do research" to get the right number. the only problem is that you have to fight them to get to someone who will actually do their job and truely find out what the "real" stats were, but to their credit once you get someone at CCP who knows what they are doning and cares they make it right.
So +1 for game tracker |

Since you have to win just under half of your first 30 matches, people will be trying their damned best to make sure they win. Which means:
Protosuits Mass Drivers Grenade spam Oceanic protostomps
The people who don't have the skills for protosuits yet will be screwed for this very reason, and I believe fights will be very one-sided since the matchmaking is still bad in this game, not to mention pretty much no segregation between high SP and low SP players outside the academy. Remember that if you don't meet the requirement for tier I rewards, you can go for tier II and get both tier I and II rewards. This means if you play 50 matches a week, an average of 7-8 matches a day and win 21 of those matches, you will get rewards from all three tiers! You don't have to be Rambo to win 21 out of 50 matches, so the goals for this event are very reasonable.
Yes we would all like to see better rewards, but atleast CCP is trying to fix the problems people have with their events. The 100wp and % reduction as you move up tiers, along with getting all lower tiers is a good idea. It was raining yesterday and I got my 21 wins in now all I need to do is finish the rest of the 50 matches, so 50 matches in a week is not hard. |

This is true, I have been in a lot of matches where 10 people have 50 or less points until the last 5 min, but it is going to be hard for CCP to come up with a system that is both fair and prevents people from abusing it. If they can not figure it out, except by trial and error, maybe they could actually seek the communities input and maybe have a competition for us to come up with the best way to have events? |
