i wonder does this belong in the same category as melee/invis glitching?
does sitting up in certain places in invulnerable hubs (can shoot out but cant be shoot back at) beyond the render distance shooting out of it with forges and swarms (thereby rendering the projectile invisible for some reason as well) count as an exploit that would rate bad enough to warent crys of banning the offenders like the melee and invis glitches did?
or does everyone hate tanks/lavs/dropships enough that they dont care?
and why is the ability to exploit the rendering distance considered OK by CCP (seeing as how they designed it that way on purpose (see old blue posts)
why is gameplay being broken to the point of exploit seen as OK just so we can have some crappy bushes sprout up around us in a 10m radius like were freaking mother earth?
rendering is killing long range combat and recon. i could see if it was equal distances for everyone regardless of weapon/vehicle but as it stands things are not equal and its being exploited an awful lot. |

If you can provide proof to CCP, including how to do this "exploit" they can take whatever action they please. But all in all I believe the problem is caused due to the terrible rendering at long distances. |

CCP are the ones to blame for BS render distance, the swarms and forge don't do anything to make it happen, things like rail tanks can't see 350m+ (its probably less) while forge and swarm and lock on or see far enough to hit a tank at the same distance.
In order to fix their game they had to introduce this stupid render distance crap, till they stop trying to woo the inbred console market we'll have to deal with it, when the ps exclusive deal is over hopefully they'll have the sense to move the game to machines that can handle it. |

Yeah, tanks cannot see infantry further tank 200m (the absolute max distance of blaster turrets). Infantry can see us from anywhere I believe. And we can see other tanks roughly at 400m even though railguns have 600m range. |

It's poor design plain and simple. You cannot blame people for taking advantage. They should have never tied it to weapons or vehicles. |

Yea I can't see how this render fix was ever though of as a good idea. Cut it across the board not as to what they deemed important to see. In a tank turrets and infantry are just as deadly as another tank, yet I can always see the tanks but never the more powerful assault forge gunners. Who ever came up with this system should be fired. |

It's probably largely unintended. Lots of fairly mundane choices of sniper perch likely apply unless you're talking about something much more specific.
So, no. It's a deficiency of the system that could be working in their favour unknowingly through standard play. I can't see any compelling case you could make for someone actively exploiting it just because the bug is so general. You need airtight and unambiguous proof... or if it's a bug that can't consistently occur by accident an overwhelming amount of anecdotal evidence will do. This isn't one of those however. |

there are several spires in partic ular where if you stand on them you dont render, not only that they are slightly sloped, and have a little hiding spot on the top where you can stand inside it and you are invulnerable to weapons fire
AND if you nudge yourself JUST right you can shoot out of it with LOS to the entire playing field
did i meantion your invisable in addition to this?
try to get a forge gunner out of there i dare you.
because you cant snipe him, you cant forge him and if you try to bring a dropship 10 feet off the ground its dead.
there are other slightly less glitchy spots in high places that render the forge gunner invisable to everything (even other infantry)
but the forge gunner can still render vehicles.
so forge gunner = invisable (on purpose that why they go to these places where they cant see other infantry) glitch the hell out of render distance, and remove every vehicle fromt he map all game without anyone abel to even figure out where they are.
there are places like this on every map.
but noooo vehicle users are just bad, has nothing to do with getting hit by invisable swarms and forge guns every game from infantry abusing render distance to their advantage |
