Hello all, I am HARBINGER 3, First Director of The Centurians. I am looking to specialize in Amarr Assault Dropsuits with balanced tanking and Scambler Rifles in my Light Weapon slot along with a Flaylock Pistol as a sidearm. Is this build viable? If not what are your suggestions to make this fit even better?Thank you for any opinions on this matter. |

i think that hybrid tanking is a good idea
armor is easier to skill up at first
the scr is a danger to me because i run 550shield//142armor |

Yes, it's viable, though the flaylock pistol has been nerfed into uselessness, at least in comparison to the SMG and SCP. You'll find a SMG a much better tool for ripping through armor once you drop shields with the scrambler rifle. In terms of balanced tanking, you want something like full shield extenders (the best you can fit), then 1-2 basic plates and the best repper you can fit after that.
Also, Amarr logistics is 100x better than Amarr assault in every way except for a tiny bit of move speed and the no heat build-up reduction. If you're ok with being slightly slower and having to manage your SCR a bit more, the Amarr logi suit is fantastic. 3 high 3 low 3 equipment at ADV, with a sidearm at all levels, and much more PG/CPU than the equivalent tiered assault. |

Thanks Awry Barux and Tebow Baggins for your answers. I'll consider an SMG. |

I think you're in a good path, as I like Scrambler Rifles and LOVE the Flaylock. It's a strong combination. You want to have the ADV Flaylock at the very least. Try to get operation skill to level 5 asap for the blast radius bonus.
Now for the suit. First decide if you will be using the assault Scrambler Rifle or the semi-auto Scrambler Rifle. If your choice is the semi auto, you'll want to have the Amarr assault suit for the heat build up reduction bonus. The semi auto Scrambler Rifle overheats a lot, so you wanna keep that heat build up to minimum. If you prefer the assault version of the gun, then you can consider the Amarr logibro. The assault version doesn't overheat that much, you can fire full clip and it will not overheat. I use this one with a Caldari suit, love it.
For the modules. You can hybrid tank by equipping shield extenders and armor plates. But you could also try to use damage mods and armor plates. You can try the damage mods if you're going to use the semi auto rifle, since this one has longer range, you'll be most likely using it for long range combat. The assault version of the gun is used for mid range-CQC, so you'll want shield extenders on this one so you are able to survive within heavy crossfire and explosives. This applies to both suits, assault and logistics, whichever your choice is. Always have an armor repairer on the logistics suit. For the assault suit, I like reactive plates. The other should be either ferroscale or basic plates, you want to be as fast as possible on either suit.
For equipment on the assault suit I always like the nanite injector for easy WP. Grenades should be Flux or Core Locus.
Good luck.

I would avoid the flaylock until you get assault scrambler. Close quarters combat is fast moving, so I would prefer at least one rapid fire weapon. The problem with your build is distance, and you will be at a disadvantage with low tier flaylocks at close range. |
