honestly these names seem to represent three of the factions to me, with unicorn being amar and minotaur being minmatar. however balrog isnt known to me and i can't differ between gallente and caldari.... when i do more research ill edit this post.
now with minotaurs and unicorns both being a mythical type of horse creature (i think) i am guessing that these maybe racial LAVs. balrog on the other hand could might as well be anything from a new dropsuit, new weapon, new module... anything. and when i get back with some more knowledge about balrog ill report back. |

CCP Merovingian is kind of the Neocom guy, so I don't know if these code words have anything to do with the Neocom or not. All I can interpret from it is that it's 3 separate but related things that may have something to do with being shiny (read previous tweets). |

Yes he's right. Gallente Go for the Mythical creatures and etc. Although most of it is Ancient Mediterranean mythology or topics
Minmatar go for things that deal with destruction and liberty (I think)
Caldari go for a lot of animal names and ancient weapons. |

Minmatar have animal and mythological themed ships as well like the Loki. |

I advise you change the name of unicorn to pegasus as it's much less "strange" and obviously fits in with DShip names. |

Caldari use bird names usually, Minmatar use some Greek mythology but mainly use badass sounding names, Amarr use religion related terms.
That leaves Gallente. They always use mythological names and are pansy enough to name something Unicorn. |

I'm leaning this way now too - CCP has telegraphed in the past that they're working on racial heavies, and somewhere along the line i got the impression that they were higher up on the priority list than filling out the vehicle line up.
On the other hand if 1.5 is a big vehicle rethink patch, I'd want all the vehicles in the lineup before even thinking about it. But it seems unlikely those assets would be ready anytime soon. |

Unicorn... sounds magical. Also gory.
Minotaur is a half man, half demonic beast that eats people stuck in the Labyrinth in Knossos. I hope it means some sort of vehicle.
