Alright, so I think it would be sweet to have a battle simulator. A simulated arena on familiar maps that you can go solo on or train with your corp. On Solo you would be allowed to test out anything on the market... That's right... EVERYTHING. That way people get a little less disappointed with their purchases. I had no idea how to use a laser rifle until long after I skilled up enough to use it. A year later, I have never used the stupid thing. They could spawn a few preset practice dummies (Scout, Assault, Heavy) so they could see how their weapon does against the different fits.
Then there's group battle sim. I would keep this as corp only, and you can only use the equipment that you own. Reason being, it is for training purposes only. Learning how to work with your squad mates in prep for a PC battle is important and trying to see if a new recruit is PC worthy is equally important. Practicing maneuvers and tactics in your squad and corp would help people prepare and feel ready as a team. The corp leader who starts the simulated match has a sandbox power over the simulation, where he has control over individuals positions, fitting (based on personal skill, person assets, and corp assets), vehicles, and the teams. To help with this, there would be a corp asset section for battle sim with preset load outs to fit everyone with.
Just an idea to help people get familiar with the equipment in DUST and their team. I'm open to suggestions and feedback |

It's called the war room and is already planned for the game. |

War room is slightly different because of its organizational foundation. There is no "Sandbox" mode for the leader to begin and practice special scenarios for squads, and there is no "Market Test" where you can test out any weapon to try and get a feel for it. I'm really excited for War room though. Hopefully they beef it up a little |
