I'm not going to inform even more people about how to do it here but CCP knows about it I'm sure. A scout with Kin Cats and melee mods can be an unstoppable force right now. If you don't fix this ASAP it's just a matter of time before more and more people start doing it and it infects the game and turns it into Melee Exploit 514. |

Is that not the aim of CQC scouts?
Get close, blow shields and half armor off with shotgun, melee during the reload?
It's s valid tactic, like redlining, FG sniping, SR sniping, and tank blitz.
What's the point of scout then?
To snipe? You can do a better job in a Medium frame. More health, equivalent scan with all the mods then can fit
To Shotgun? Again, you would do better with a medium frame. More health, similar run speed. Oh, and shotguns are broken to hell.
To Scan people? The entirety of scanning has been broken for a while.
If you nerf kin cats and melee mods, then what the hell are scouts useful for?

Don't want to mention exploit? Here, I'll do it for you since most of the folks here already know it.
Rapidly alternate pressing the sprint button and the melee button and make sure aim assist is turned on. That's it. |

My question was going to be "what is the exploit?". I really didn't want to know how it was done but simply what effect does it have.

It allows you to be able to melee someone repeatedly in rapid succession. You can deal a half dozen punches in a single second if you time it right. |

You must be a REAAALLY poor shot.... I don't get melee'd often, know why? CAUSE I ****ING TURN AROUND! It's not like these guys are trolls man like redliners in BF3 and campers in CoD, its a tactic, real world US, Russia, they all use these tactics, nobody real world will run in on you with a sniper rifle and attempt to quick scope you, real world based on their training THEY WILL USE CQC hand-to-hand combat as it is needed.
Secondly, people have preferences you don't have the right to tell someone not to get skilled into something if the individual in question really wants it. You don't like getting melee'd? Try blacklight tango down then come back to Dust 514, THEN tell me what you don't like... noob... |

Umm this isn't a single punch to the head we're talking about here this is 3-4 punches per second each doing 200-ish damage. You can't turn around quick enough to stop it.
If it were just using the game mechanics to kill folks that would be fine. The dropsuit modules are not the problem here. The issue is that alternating the R3 and L3 buttons rapidly resets the melee animation but still does full melee damage making you a rapidfire punching god.
Perhaps you should learn a bit more about the subject you're responding to before you call people out. |

It is fun but it is not easy.
yes you can kill ppl with one hit (you do not need to spam).
yes I do not need to overload the weapon to do it.
Am I unstoppable? Hell, no!
A lot of ppl found me or I screwed the first hit and they turned around.
Maybe I am not the best person doing it but the point is ... if it would be overpowered than I would die less often ;)
And if you run into someone from the front you are faster toast than you can blink. |

I suggest you specify that you're talking about a glitch so that idiots will quit bashing you with there ignorance. They seem to be confusing the word "Exploit" with the word "clich+¬" and therefor feel you are complaining about melee being overused.

They need to fix the glitch were your knives do zero damage even at full charge and with both hits. This has not once happened to me while pistol whipping. If combined with this glitch then every weapon is now better then the knives at CQC... that's just not right .

The hit detection seems to have been improved just recently as I have now noticed a marked increase in the number of kills I get compared to the number of deaths. There is that one rare occasion that the hit detection suffers a hiccup, but it's not as annoying now as it was before.
I was able to get 20 kills in a single match just recently with the knives alone. |

If a scout manages to sneak up to you and starts whacking then you should blame yourself that he managed to do that. Using melee weapons on this game is probably the hardest thing to do. |

Submit the reproducible details of this exploit via support ticket and it will get forwarded to the tech dept for resolution.
That being said, I agree the melee 'multi-strike' really does need to go.

EDIT: I note to those who are unaware it is standard protocol to report exploits directly to CCP not via the forums, further there is currently an exploit within the melee system which needs to be bug fixed. |
