I would like for CCP to focus on getting certain things done that have taken from the appeal of Dust not only for those of us that are active, but also for those who have tried the game out and walked away. I want to get most of those folks back and I believe my set of priorities for the game would benefit everyone involved. This is based on my opinion, I do not know what CCP is working on or where their priorities lie, but I believe the following should be core among them:
Priority #1: Newcomer friendliness. We seem to lose a great deal of potential Dust addicts for the simple reason that there is a steep learning curve that involves learning from mistakes what should be painfully obvious. People do not know what weaponry is suited for armor or shields of dropsuits or vehicles, for example. Implementing more detailed information in item statistics may remedy these issues. I could go on and on about that, but someone else can make a thread about it. More importantly, matches after the academy for new players are brutal and disheartening to say the least. One thing that can go a long way to making public matches more sensible is to set up game modes where players were limited to MLT and STD gear and matches where ADV were the highest gear you could use in a match. |

i agree with most of this except for locking game modes based on gear, instead the acadamy graduation needs to be set to a higher amount of wp so players may happen to see a specialized proto something player on the field and learn how to deal with or aviod it. another reason why i think the graduation wp should be higher is so anyone who is actually graduated is more likly to be an invested player more likely to return for the next battle. |

I actually thought about recommending the exact same thing on game modes and restrictive suits. I agree with you, but it could use some tweaking, simply because some protobear could take advantage of his passive skills and gain the extra edge over the new guys, ie: proficiencies, shield/armor extender efficiencies, and dropsuit shield/armor upgrades, and not to mention that many would use this as a form of isk grinding. |

Sure can, but the game does not have proficiency 6, 7, etc. That's why I don't pay much mind in SP differences. I, for example, have over 20 mil SP and I die just fine to guys with 9 mil and the occasional 3 mil. |

Yup, priority 1 should be lessening/eliminating player loss/bleed. The game is hard and frustrating. It takes quite a bit of work to appreciate what it's trying to do and to not suck horribly. However, many new players never get that far as this game REALLY isn't set up for newer players at all. We'll never have a larger player base, and as a matter of fact it will shrink due to the boringness of all of this non-content, if we don't try to make new players like/want to retain the game.
We should be trying to get as many new players as we can and do whatever we can to keep them playing. It takes a little while before you get good at all in this game. |

Also needed. I skipped over these at first because of the title. |
