I enjoy the game and hope it improves, but won't be heartbroken if this is all we get. That is your reply? Blind faith or GTFO? It is deliberately a trap statement; there is no rational dialogue that can follow by accepting your premise as reasonable. Like bacon.
EDIT: Also, CCP always said this would be a long development path, just like Eve has been. If you expect something more quickly, then play a game deveoped by a company that has a track record for putting things out more quickly.
I have a minimalist world-view. I don't think it is acceptable to lack a justification for existence. Even at the price-point of free, I am struggling to understand why DUST 514 should continue to exist, use up energy and time and talent. And CCP said they had 5 years of content. We have spent 2 years redoing the first 6 months of the original content. In fact, the amount of unique features has actually deteriorated since the earliest states of beta. I question the value of intentions against such haphazard execution. This is something you are welcome to do - but my question still remains. If you don't enjoy it, why are you playing it? Why spend your time on something that you are unhappy with? What good comes from that? Why not go and play something else you enjoy more? I'd like an honest answer - if the relationship is over, just get the break up over with, and find a new girl. I did. I play PS2 on TR Connery for the time being; unsure if I will hop onto PS4 in the end but looks likely. The dev-player relationship is night and day, at least right now. Thing was a year ago it was opposite. PS2 was bland and spartan, DUST was fresh and unique and good dev communication. Things have changed once, mayhaps they change again. Ultimately CCP as a studio has recieved more money than ANY other company in history from me, and I don't want to be accessory to waste. So I still chime in with insights and analysis hoping it helps. So I'm hopelessly naive I suppose
Thats about where I am, I am hoping that new leadership will help as well. Frankly the leadership replacement gives me more hope then most things. It's sad that only one section of the DCCP studio is known I any way, and really thats only because individuals in that department went out of it way to talk to us, even bending the rules to do so. |
